Great story, but they would have a hard time beating any of the top high school boys teams in the country. A top high school team would have a front line at probably no less than 6'4", in many cases larger. They would be faster, quicker, jump higher, more athletic, etc.

I think they would beat some of the worst Div I teams LOL... They play such tenacious defense that these teams would have major problems on the perimeter.

Makes me laugh when I read stuff like this. As some of you know I used to play tennis professionally (I sucked). And I just laugh when I hear "Could Serena beat so and so" or "Could the top girl beat "so and so".

Night and day people. Serena couldn't beat any guy in top 1500 including myself. Not even close. If Serena tried to play NCAA college tennis she wouldn't be close to ranked in top 150, in fact there are NCAA tennis teams that she wouldn't even make the team:mj07:

The games are so different.

So the UConn basketball example is the same. They would be competitive in some high school match-ups. But even then they'd lose. It is just totally different. Take any NAIA or DIII basketball team and they'd beat the UConn chick team.

To put it in perspective the Canadian women's hockey team (that won the gold) played 15/16 year old boys in competitive games. The chicks were training for the Olympics and needed competition. The games counted in the standings (so the kids would take it seriously) and body-checking was removed. Well.........the ladies played 6 games and were never close to winning. In fact they lost one game 9-1.

You get the idea about the difference between the sexes.

Think most of you are all right. It's a different game...but the real ball breaker[oops] in boys vs. girls in basketball is....the size of the ball...lets not forget there is a difference...a big difference....after coaching boys for many years then shifting to coaching my daughters AAU teams...its such a huge difference....Huskies girls playing with a boys ball would slow down the game...
Now about technique,skills,fundamentals..girls are better...no question...ball movement, screen,FT and FG %,etc,etc...but playing each other is a different matter.....now to give the girls some advantages..
shooting...Annie Oakely...you win hands down....
in the kitchen.....Lorena Bobbit...quickest hands using a slicer....

I remember a couple of years ago watching Jenny Finch (I think that was her name) just completely blow away Mike Piazza in a celebrity softball game on ESPN. She struck him out swinging, and I highly doubt he was there to get embarrassed.
Not defending the chicks, but some of em got some game. Some of those chicks playing softball are probably weaing jock straps. kurby

That's like expecting a cricket player to be good at golf.

I think they could beat some d3 teams. Have you seen Moore play? Theres no doubt in my mind she could play for some d1 schools and do well.

They also play great team ball.. which has to account for something.
