Sure to bring up many heated debates. I myself think the Japanese are wrong and agree with what the Sea Shepherd does.

Although I will say that Captain Paul Watson is a fucking dick.

Won't watch this season as religously as I've watched the others. Paul Watson is an idiot that annoys me beyond belief for some reason. Season 2 they were completely reactionary and didn't have answers for any of the new defenses the Japanese boats came up with. Also he is a big cavalier and puts all those volunteers in extreme danger with some of his tactics.

I agree Poon.....although I agree with what he stands for, I don't agree on some of the shit he does. And he is such a cocky asshole it hurts the cause.

On the other hand I rather side with him, then seeing a harpoon kill a whale for "research purposes". The Japenese are so full of shit.

The cause would be better received if Paul Watson would just step down and let someone else take over.

for the record, I don't think Paul was 'shot' by the Japanese, I think it was shrapnel from the bang sticks they were throwing......Paul wouldn't hesitate to 'fake' an incident...

I AM waiting for the Japanese to put that water cannon thru the bridge of Sea Shepard....

from a save the planet standpoint, the sea shepard ruins any legitimacy that other hippie groups try to claim.

I like Watson. He believes in what he does. I don't think he lies to volunteers that the shit is dangerous and with all the press, having more resources should help from the safety standpoint. Bottom line, he helps save harmless whales. Can't say I have any problem with that. In fact, how great would it be if more people more as passionate about their life as he is.

what the sea shepard does is akin to saying you are against drunk drivers, and then hoping in your little ford focus and zipping around the highways swerving all over throwing shit at other drivers and trying to collide with them because you -think- they are driving and drinking.

I have watched this show.. Who funds this operation? Never really looked into it. I think some of the crew were recruits from a Dungeons and Dragons Larping Convention. It gets hilarious when when they get on the C.B. to talk to the Japanese captains. I mean they really think that they are telling them off with their Geeky quotes. All I am missing is for Velvma from Scoobiie Doo to come out and yell, "Jenkies."

All that aside. I hate those Japanese boats, it takes courage to want to drive them off waters. I don't know how much good it will do in the long run but more power to em..
