You have to be "not right in the head" to work on the Northwestern that's for sure. I mean Sig is outta control. Yes he brings in the money, but you'd have to pay me half a million to be on his boat. Off the boat he seems like a good guy. But holy fuck, show a tiny bit of compassion, I mean a little.....just a little:shrug:

There are tons of people in the industry like Sig. They will run on you like junk iron and could care less if you havent slept in a week. I worked on boats years ago and theres some captains that think there shit dont stink.

This show should have a spin off and call it "The Two Jakes".

Geesh the amount of drama each one brings to the show is unreal.
Northwestern Jake has a busted up hand but is told work or get off the boat and his father is missing.

Jake Harris of Cornielia Marie is poppin dads pills and tells him he is an addict.
No wonder Phil died. He son has become an addict and whats worse is he is stealing Phil's pills.
I am sure that kid is pretty screwed up right about now after his dads death.

I'm all for it on one condition -- we need to get Jack to come back to play the role of Jake Harris. Maybe something like this...

"Pops... I'm an aaaaaaadict!" Raises eyebrows, smirks and throws hands up in the air.

That's a Code Red Phil wasn't expecting. I don't think Phil can handle the truth?

It couldn't possibly be any worse than the first Two Jakes. :sadwave:

Ain't that the truth.

Man oh man the "other Jake" can't catch a break, last season his sister dies and now his Dad is gone:scared

Oh and cutting a tendon with a knife, throw that in there.

Episode 10 was one hell of an episode:scared

ts is a shocker? popping pills on the boat. thought that was a prerequisit. probably most of them do it, and have long records. they should do a show showing what they do with the money.

54 year old JJ better then 90 percent of all the crabbers out there but the Time Bandit wants to "put him down", that is rough:eek:

:142smilie

What a way to end for Phil, looks at old pictures and collapses a short time later. It was like he knew he was about to die.

Also you have to feel bad for "Northwestern Jake", all the terrible stuff that happens to him and now the phone doesn't even work. That poor kid can't catch a break:(

As a long time fan of the show the ending of that episode was hard to watch. I think the worst part, besides the obvious, is the circumstances that led up to it with Jake. Whether it contributed to the stroke or not it's going to forever haunt him. He's probably going to slip deeper into his addictions which most of us would in his shoes.

Part of me thought well if Phil was to go, he'd probably want it to be on his boat. And I'm sure he would have been proud of his son who was initially more concerned with contacting the other owner when he realized his dad couldn't take the boat out again. I'm sure that's how Phil would have been and he probably would have been proud to have his son look at it that way.

was a few weeks behind and caught up on those two episodes as well as the new one tonight. Man all 3 episodes were intense.

The after the catch didn't have much, but loved the alternate jobs for Keith. Kindergarten teacher and life coach, good stuff.

Pretty obvious that the entire fleet respected Phil.

And how about "other Jake" when he says "I feel sorry for those boys". His own father is missing and he thinks about Phil and his impact on the brothers, wow:scared

I feel so bad for "other Jake", that guy just can't catch a break. I loved when he said "Phil told me the things I always wanted to hear", that was touching.

As for the Kodiak crew......You work and ya work and ya work. You finally get a break for 10 hours, and what do you do? Go get drunk and sleep for one hour. Brilliant, just brilliant:mj16:

Kickserv,

I thought the same think about the Kodiak. My first thought was to catch up on some sleep. Drinking can come later. DUMB...

As far as the Phil thing goes the show is getting harder and harder to watch. Last night's ending was brutal. Over the years I don't recall seeing one show where Capt. Phil crossed anyone and seeing the reaction of the rest of the fleet says the same thing.

I'm not at all surprised that the first thing they did was go to the bar when they got some free time.

I used to know a guy who was a longshoreman. He owned his own boat, and I even went out on a few trips with him. Lemme tell ya this, most of the people who worked for him, and most of the fishermen he knew in general, were HARD drinkers.

A lot of those guys would get their paycheck, then go to the bar that night and blow damn near the entire thing on drinks for themselves and their friends. Many of them were full-blown alcoholics and had a hard time being out on the water for a week, or even a few days, without being able to hit the sauce.

Just when ya think the Kodiak crew is doing well.......they forget to tie down the pots:mj07:

And you just knew Jake was going to take a turn for the worse. Be real interesting to see what happened to Jake after his dad died. Hope he went to rehab.

Also, you know it is really cold when the crabs discard their own legs to stay warm:scared

I too found it funny that the Kodiak crew forgot to tie the pots.... Feed the crab...

As far as Jake is concerned it is tough to not turn to that stuff if he has been on it for some time...

An episode I have been dreading all year. Watching the after the catch, and wondering what Jake and Josh are holding in their hands? Looks like either a pen or a cigarette, but I don't think it's either. Anyone know?
