I usually look at multiple sites for information before I make a play. Here is one that breaks down nicely and will constitute a play.
I havent heard much discussion of this game but here are some facts I uncovered.
Northern Illinois at Illinois
NIU 8 offensive starters returning including the qb and 9 defensive starters returning
Last season 19th rushing offense and 35th total defense both of which will presumably improve.A solid turnover margin at 23rd in the country.
Coach Kill (NIU) sick and may not be able to attend the game. This could serve as extra motivation. Im unable to find any updates on his condition so if anyone has an update, please share.
Intrastate rivalry. Southern Illinois knocked off last week by Illinois, last shot for a small intrastate school to knock of the big boys.
And the kicker
Illinois has Ohio State at home on deck.
I like the experience and style of football that NIU brings into this game along with the motivating factors. A strong ground game and solid rush defense against a young qb and team that will almost certainly be looking right past NIU. Also, I do not have much respect for Zooks coaching style. I can see NIU hanging around if not winning this football game.
GL this weekend.
