Its not that Boise can't compete with the big boys. Its that if they get there, its such an unfair advantage.

As much as I think Boise can compete and possibly beat a team in the BCS title game...its that I highly doubt they could make it through a real conference unbeaten and be allowed to play for the title.

Its a very flawed system and I'd love to see them in a tourney....but if the "entire season is a playoff" then Boise has no business playing for the title. Are you kidding me??

The line will be 4 if Oreg and Boise play. Without a doubt Boise is the play here. It's not even a close decision whether it's Oreg or Auburn.

This is like saying Utah couldnt play for title a few years back and we got "Stuck" with ALA... we would have had FLA's ass that year too.... Utah wasnt allowed to embarrass the BCS SYSTEM....

I love Boise and think they are a great team and a class team.

That said....no way they belong playing for the national title. Can they compete? Sure they can...in a 1-game season.

Thing is....teams in the SEC and similar.....they play real teams week in and week out. Pretty sure I could name 10-20 teams that could play Boise's schedule and beat the shit out of bad teams. Would Boise be unbeaten in the SEC? No.

Its a horrible system and there's no fair way to do it under the horrible system. But, if Boise wants to be NATIONAL CHAMPIONS...join a real conference and play decent teams.

I'd rather see a 1-loss SEC team play for the title than Boise, who got a win over Va Tech (at the same time James Madison did) and then played high school teams the rest of the year. Its apples and oranges. You are a GREAT Div 1-aa team....maybe one day you will join the big boys and play real football.

yea; that Au had to beat kenty, ulmon, chat, miss... thats 4 reaaaalllll tough games right there.... how did they survive ???

i'd rather see boise play a team that could challenge them, like tcu. at least the frogs have beaten boise in the last 2 years. on the other hand, if boise played oregon or auburn, i'd make a ton of money in that game.

what makes you think the sec is so tough ??? is it that tough that the top teams in that great con have to play cupcakes in NOV like : geo st, chat, ulmon, troy, app st, ida st, chsou... who is chsou ????

No....its that you could put AT LEAST half the teams in the SEC into Boise's conference and they would go unbeaten. Put Boise in the SEC and they would have at least one loss.

Still makes them a great team that can compete with anyone and could possibly win a playoff....but they wouldn't even be mentioned for a national title....b/c its a horrible system.

What high school team are they going to run the score up on this week? Dude, the whole thing is a joke. At least join the Pac 10 and play a real schedule if you want to be considered #1.

your so off... open your eyes... yea yea thats right... they should join the b-10 and play power houses like ohio st did this yr : marsh,m fla ohio,e mich, ind, mich, min .... did you see that game at wrigley sat ??? thats big time football ??????? I'm not smart enough to see what you see.....what would they do in the acc ??? they could get to the final game in the sec... if they lost one along the way, we'd have to genuflect and give them the nation title.. you lose one in that sec, your great.... RIGHT ???

bryanz, take a deep breath, man. i'm on your side. did you even read what i wrote? i said i'd rather see a team that would at least give boise a challenge, like tcu. i don't think oregon or auburn would have much of a chance against boise. neither team plays a lick of defense.

in most years, the sec guys would have a good argument. that conference has been far and away the best for quite a while now. but this year? other than LSU, where are the great defenses? and even LSU got torched by a mediocre ole miss offense at home last night. the fact remains, the two most complete teams in college football this year (and probably last year) are boise and tcu.

oh, and when i said "i'd make a ton of money on that game", i meant i'd hammer boise. i've been on boise in most of their bowl games starting with the fiesta bowl against oklahoma (i still have the 2nd half of that game on my dvr. what a half of football.).

This is a stupid debate, I guess all the teams from the SEC should leave the SEC, join a shit conference, and go undefeated every year.

hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Love this talk right here. IF IF IF boise got to play in the NC against Auburn, they would get beat. Boise's offense isn't better than any other offense we've played all year. And their defense is NOT better than the average SEC defense. I don't care who says what about that. Auburn would put up 60 on Boise. They may be able to burn our DBs enough to put up 45-50.

Betting against the SEC in the BCS NC game has been very profitable over the last decade. But suckers and sec-haters keep doing it :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Sorry Our best beats your best everytime all the time. tough pill to swallow out west

No reasonable person can claim the SEC is as good this year as in years past. Having said that I also dont believe any reasonable person can say that Boise plays the same competition on a weekly basis. To me how good they are and how tough their schedule is are two different arguments. If ever Boise or TCU are to get in it better be this year, cause if not, it just aint happening. Until they get into a AB conference. The sadest part of all of this is TCU and Boise get left out and the Big East is an AB conference. If I was a Boise or TCU fan I would be pissed as well given their resume, but lets be honest until they are in a big conference that is in bed with the BCS it just aint happening. I would love to know if there is actually anyone outside of all those with their hands in the cookie jar that actually likes the fuckfest known as the BCS.

Hand is in cookie jar - because thanks to 2004 Undefeated SEC gets the nod over any other undefeated team in the country for the NC game - but still would like a playoff.

However the last 2 years, unless they were seeded and put on the same side of the bracket - UF / Bama would have been a rematch in the NC Game last year and the year before.

That would have upset a lot of people but hey at least there would have been 6 other teams with a chance.

I know the SEC isn't quite what it used to be, which was the premier conference for 2-3 decades. Its still pretty good overall. I also know the mid-majors are better overall.

At the same time, dude....come on. Half the SEC is ranked in the top 25. And that doesn't even include Georgia and Florida this year.

I honestly think Georgia and Florida would go unbeaten in that conference if you replace either of them with Boise. Catch Va Tech early when they couldn't even beat James Madison....probably beat Oregon State....

Georgia or Florida could be challenging for the national title this year....if they were in that conference.

I love Boise but until they get out of that joke of a conference....they shouldn't be rewarded with a chance at the NATIONAL TITLE b/c they beat one good team. Only reason I'd like it is b/c it would show, yet again, how awful the BCS is.

SEC West is stronger than usual. SEC is clearly down.

BTW, SEC west 15-3 vs SEC East this season:scared

I didnt realize the east had won 3 games:00hour And I agree the west is obviously the class of the conference! To me this year the biggest difference seems to be the middle of the road teams are not as strong as years past.
