Both lose who plays for the championship?

I heard the talking heads on ESPN tonight say Auburn plays for it win or lose :facepalm:

is TCU worthy? Stanford lost to Oregon, Wisconsin is probably the best team right now

TCU has to be one if the teams if either Aub or Ore lose just based on BCS rules. If they don't, then it would expose how much of a fraud the system is.

Going through the regular season undefeated in the SEC + how ridiculously strong the SEC West is this year that we ran through....

Auburn deserves to be in the game regardless of this weekend. SEC West will go 4-1 / 5-0 in bowl games this year. Nobody wants to play Bama, LSU or Arkansas right now. 2 of those SEC West bowl wins will be BCS bowls.

Just my opinion.

Based on the SOS figures, my oponion is that 1 loss Auburn would deserve a shot at the title game over undefeated Oregon and TCU. I read, but have not verified, that Oregon will have played 3 bowl-eligible teams:mj07:

Going into last week's game they had played 1.

Tennessee - real weak and real terrible but eligible

ASU - needs a W over Zona this weekend to be eligible, not gonna happen

Stanford - a legitimate team

Washington - could beat WSU this weekend for their 6th win. Complete joke if they go to a bowl

Zona - on a serious skid and may lose their 4th straight to end the reg season this week but already eligible. Don't see them losing to ASU though

OSU - needs to beat Oregon to become eligible


So I guess you call "Quality wins" wins over Bowl eligible teams... maybe:

1) Tennessee - when the team was in shambles early this year, they have gotten a lot better as the year went on

2) Stanford - very solid

3) Washington - terrible

4) Zona - Meh

Technically have beaten 4 Bowl Eligible teams if Wash beats Wash St this weekend.


TCU has beaten: Baylor, SMU, BYU, AF, Utah, SDSt. So 2 more bowl eligible teams than Oregon. But 0 wins over a good team. Don't see any of these opponents playing after Christmas, let alone after New Years.

Auburn has 8. and 5 of them are top 25 teams.

First of all they play 9 conference games in a BCS conference,,They cant control at all how good, bad or decent there conference is...They played AT Tennessee and you know as well as i do that game was scheduled when they were much better than now....I see nothing wrong with there schedule and please dont bring up Port st and N. Mexixo as there other games after Auburn played Ark St, la Mon and Chatt.....If it ends up Oregon and Aub in the final it will be a super game i assume..If either one loses they should be OUT and onto a different bowl.....

That article is a joke...Its very simple. You dont win your conference you dont play in the titke game. I live in Wisky and am an OU fan and they had zero business playing in the title game after K ST. throttled them in the Big 12 title game....Until theres a playoff this system is and always will be the biggest joke in sports history.

No, Richard, it didn't. Only 2 should be a conference champ. I know UGA has fallen off the map, but hard to imagine your thought process here. What, Big Ten now gets special treatment for lack of a Championship game.

Ohio St is 0-1 vs BCS teams with 8+ wins
Mich St is 1-1
Wisc, which is clearly the best in Big Ten is 1-0

You tell me now that those 3 deserve 38% of the spots in am 8 team playoff simply b/c they do not play a conf championship:mj07: :mj07:


BTW, Arky(loss to Aub and Bama) and LSU (loss @ Aub and @ Arky)are 3-2. Aub is 5-0
