Just got a new desktop computer from Best Buy. Have qwest internet which worked fine on old comp. Now I cannot get any internet through the modem. Works for like 15 seconds then goes away.

Is something in my new computer blocking the internet, etc?

Its a Lenovo. The internet signal gets cut off about 15 secs in. I wonder if its on qwests end? The modem is flickering more than it should.

Is there any kind of firewall that could be blocking the internet?

Did you unplug from the other computer and plug directly into your new computer? Power cycle the modem, I don't think software is the problem.

I reset it once and have unplugged it several times. But yes, i did just unhook from old and hook to new. What do you mean by power cycle?

It stops loading pages, no connection. Starting to think the modem is f-cked.

Using internet through your phone sucks. Didnt know how much i would miss it!

Just to make sure - are you using wireless router?

Are you directly plugged in? (From modem to the back of your computer?"

Well I found out my wireless modem and my exact port from Qwests main feed station were both whacked. On the same day I got a new computer!

What are the odds? They had to give me a new port and a new modem.
