today my wife saw a new patient for the first time. The child’s parents and sibling were with him. They do absolutely everything together now as to not be deported separately. Parent have green cards as permanent residents. Children were born here and are citizens. Someone they know with a green card was deported over a long since resolved clerical matter with a visa.

It is my firm belief that permanent residents with a green card who are law abiding citizens and productive members of society should not be living in fear of deportation

Like many, I voted for change in the status quo.

I voted for a reduction of the bureaucracy on the scale of Clinton’s reduction 30 years years ago. I voted for a reduction of the national debt. I voted for the quickest possible long term peace agreement in the Russia Ukraine war. I voted for deportation of illegal immigrants and tightening of the southern border .

What was happening was not functional. Our debt to GDP ratio doubled in four potus terms, and our debt nearly quadrupled. Another four terms like the last four would have been a disaster. If debt is still spiraling after trump 2.0, he will have been a failure. I think he’s gonna be a failure in terms of midterm elections. he is still too abrasive. I thought he was more tame than his first 2 campaigns. It annoys the middle. And we all know the middle, meaning people like myself who are willing to vote for either party, decide these elections.

I certainly did not vote for green card holding residents to have to do everything together to avoid being deported separately. I told my Nicaraguan housekeeper, who is a us citizen, she needs to tell people that she knows with green cards to talk with an immigration lawyer immediately if they ever had a lapse in their visa, even if it was a minor clerical issue, or if they have any criminal record no matter how minor. Sad state of affairs on this front.
