I know ppabart doesn't post on here anymore, but if any Madjacker is in contact with him, let him know about this flick. We have been waiting forever for this movie.

Maybe MadJack still has his e-mail address, if so......Jack do me a solid and let ppabart know about this thread, he can't miss this movie. True Press Your Luck fans can not miss this movie, they can not.

looking through the cast...

walton goggins? i'm in!

johnny knoxville? nope, i'm out.

while looking at this, i was reminded that there is a "reboot" of Naked Gun coming out. now, i like liam neeson. but why the fuck would anybody think this is a good idea? i get it, they are out of original ideas. but unless they make this film for under $10M (seems unlikely), they are going to lose money.

Does it get any farther apart in acting ability between Walton Goggins and Johnny Knoxville??
looking through the cast...

This movie is all about the GOAT Michael Larson, no actor in the history of acting would have been able to appear in a movie about the greatest human to ever walk the Earth without totally freaking out.

I mean the entire crew not just the cast knew no matter what they did you can't live up to the expectations and greatness that is Michael Larson. So it doesn't matter, it just doesn't, you just try your best and see what happens.

Again we are talking about Michael Larson here people. I mean you have some great accomplishments in human history......

- Johannes Gutenberg inventing the mechanized printing press

- The Wright brothers finally achieving man’s historic quest to fly

- Some dudes walking on the moon

But that doesn't come close to what Michael Larson did on May 19, 1984 on that Press Your Luck soundstage in Los Angelas, California. So yeah, it doesn't matter who the actors are, you can't come close to Michael Larson, you just can't.

kickserv film review coming soon......:kurby

This movie better be good, full kickserv review is pending.

**I faked being sick so I could stay home from school and watch. I was only 9 years old but even I knew something was up.

**For those that remember the episode was split up over two days, so yep I missed two days of school to watch the greatness that was Michael Larson. The man is my idol and always will be, he is the greatest human to ever walk the Earth.

I remember this guy. Memorized the pattern and kept playing and getting the money and +1 spin. He didn’t cheat. Not like the guy on millionaire who had his wife and friend cough on the correct answers 😂

See the three screenshots above, they did a great job doing casting (along with make-up, etc etc) for Ed Long, Janie Litras and Michael Larson, the Production team absolutely nailed it.

A little off with Peter Tomarken though, Walton Goggins didn't look anywhere close to the greatest game show host of all time Tomarken.

kickserv review........

For those that have no idea who Michael Larson was......

8.3 outta 10

For those like me that know everything about Michael Larson (he is my hero) and know all the details of what happened on May 19th, 1984

7.5 outta 10

I enjoyed the movie, no question about that, I waited like one hundred years for a movie to finally come out about the god that is Michael Larson and I was not disappointed.

Overall the movie was very accurate, I was pleasantly surprised, there were lots of little details that they nailed, and all involved did a fantastic job with the set. And as mentioned above, great job with the casting (it was a miss with Goggins though, although Goggins did a good job).

Let me first start off saying that Paul Walter Hauser was fantastic in his portrayal of Larson, he nailed it, I mean he absolutely nailed it.

Now the bad news.....I know it is a movie and you have to "take liberties" with the story. Every "bio pic" ever made always "does stuff" to move the story along or make it more exciting or whatever, I mean I get that. But there were three instances in this flick that were shown that never happened. One I could live with, but two instances were so "not true" that it turned me off. I mean I get why Samir Oliveros (the Director) did em, but there were so many other ways it could be done. I am not going to ruin it for anybody that has not seen the film, but there was a 5 minute stretch of the film that was so "not true" and never happened that it ruined the story.

I also thought Oliveros messed up a bit not showing just how amazing Michael Larson was on pulling off what he did. I would have liked a 2 minute sequence showing just how incredibly difficult it was to do what Michael Larson did. If you watch the actual broadcast of him after one hour on set you can see him sweating and almost having a heart attack, he was under so much stress and his body was about to shut down, I felt the movie failed to show what a monumental achievement Michael Larson pulled off.

I think anybody that watches this movie will enjoy it, I know I did.

Oh and anytime Arya Stark is in a movie, ya know it is going to be good, so yeah there is that (y)

You'll be happy to know Knoxville is only in the movie for four minutes.

As for Goggins, he did a good job but he was miss cast.

I think you'll enjoy the movie, actually more so if you have no idea who Larson was.

As I mentioned in my review I thought they could have done a better job showing just how incredible this feat was to pull off. It was absolutely incredible to pull off what he did. And he did it in 1983 on a VCR manufactured in 1982, somehow he figured it out and then executed his plan, incredible:eek:

He is the greatest, the absolute greatest, I bow down to him🙇‍♂️
