Not too much out there to get an edge - in the big games, you just have to sort have be right on your conviction on the matchup... I've had a couple mediocre years recently, but my big game record still remains very very good.

Clayton has been out of his mind in the 2nd halves... maybe he can do it again. Someone in here said Duke beat Duke - I don't play those games... TT beat TT, UConn beat Uconn, Auburn beat Auburn. I felt all 3 of those teams were better for 30 of 40 minutes - Auburn was so so bad in the 2nd half... UConn couldn't make a(n) (open) shot... Ttech couldn't make free throws and clammed up. Again, credit to Florida for taking advantage... this feels like Chiefs/Eagles to me tho... Chiefs had some smoke and mirrors to get there and then got beat up by the more physical team.

I'm not getting this Houston no eye test thing... they have been nails tough all year. They were cold as ice in that first half on open looks. And they are a great 3 point shooting team. This has been them all year - they find ways because they never give up, play relentless D, have great 3 point and free throw shooting guards. They have a little home court edge here too.

I think Florida was prepping for Duke, and this is a slight letdown and under prep. Florida has higher upside, so sure if you get a Clayton game or just a colder Houston game, I wouldn't be surprised - but I think Houston has a higher percentage chance to be too good for too much of the game... and they won't choke like the other 3. Houston is relentless and resilient - and they haven't even been playing great. If Florida goes down 8-10 like they have been, this, Cougs and Sampson will have the moxie to hold on. Kelvin finally gets his. I prefer under too, and will dabble there
Mediocre seasons with results that were not going to be congruent with your general handicapping style. The worm is going to turn on that.

Completely agree on these points. Houston is hugely underrated even at this point. They are a better version of TT in terms of matchup with Florida. Condon has been a complete disaster and will have trouble with Houston's front court. I cant see the Cougars letting Clayton beat them, too many high level athletes to run at him.

And I agree this matchup feels a lot like Chiefs/Eagles. Florida in big trouble if they don't get a lead here.

Florida is anything BUT a one man show. They are the deepest team in the country and have 3 seasoned senior guards. Florida also has multiple bigs that can stretch the floor. Florida has yet to play a complete game. If both teams play to their potential, Florida wins by 8-10.

All valid thoughts on your breakdown of the game Jord ~It's a damn toss-up to me!

Love Houston's grit and effort, and 3pt shooting and FT shooting...
Love the way Florida likes to run the floor... and their bigs they rotate in play w/super effort and can get hot from outside.

I played Florida to fill my par because I had em in my bracket over Hou for the title lol
I'm hoping Fla will get out in front and "Live" line will climb up over 6 or 7 pts and I'll play Houston to cover that!

And I'm thinking the 2h will go over cuz both of these teams will try to extend the game if necessary...
like the Duke game, the total could land right on the number

Hope it's a good one!

Very interesting point raised by Jord re Fla likely prepping for Duke. I'm sure they prep/practice to the extent possible for either possible opponent, but surely were thinking it would be Duke. Also, I just can't help but feel that you can only go to the well so many times having Superman Clayton spark your 2nd half comeback. He has been amazing, but he is human. Fla can't keep relying on him to bring them back. Fwiw, I think I like Cougs here as well.

Can say basically the same thing about Houston. Deep. Seasoned guards.

No one suggested they were a good he man show but with no show condon Clayton has been bailing them out.

I’m perplexed with all the technology we have that we can’t get shit right even in the national championship game.

What a microcosm of the 2 years of favorites. Better team (dog) finds a way to lose in a game they had to do so little to close

Sharpe two turnovers in the last two possessions truly cost them the game. The referees were so whistle happy at the end there if he would’ve just drove, they would’ve called the foul.

Sharpe was disastrous tonight. That possession was inexcusable, but so were 8 of the last 10 possessions.

Can we please differentiate between dramatic and good games. This game was embarrassing- no buckets in last 2:30. Houston 4 turnovers in a row. No shots even fired. Bad reffing. No big shot making.
