as Seattle's D last night in the 4th quarter? Looked like they absolutely didn't care. Holmgren better watch it; he almost got fired after the 2004season and owners don't like to see their players not care.
Pitchers recent form:
Simontacchi since July 27: 16 IP 27 hits 23 ER 12.94 ERA
Coggin since July 2: 27 IP 13 hits 2 ER 0.67 ERA
Philly looks like a live home dog.
1st- ELLS END (1) looks like he is the controlling speed in here. Like him on the small turnback from 1 mile to 7f
2nd-HALO'S TIGER (8) looks like the horse to beat but he has a habit of running 2nd or 3rd. He faced a tough CD Mdn field at a mile and finished 8 lengths in front of 4th.
3rd-...
1st inning and Poncino is already squeezing the plate on both pitchers. This guy wasn't around the past couple years and he certainly didn't get any memos on calling more strikes. Add him to the definite over list.
Every game in 88 degree heat or warmer went over the total yesterday and every game indoors or cooler than 88 went under the total. We should get lots of scoring at Wrigley, KC, Pro Player, Philly and Texas today.
Cin/Mets OVER 7.5 (WSEX) Leiter has been off form lately and the knuckleballer goes up against a veteran team.
Fla/Montreal OVER 8 Burnett and Ohka both were pitching better earlier in the season.
Tor/Minny UNDER 8.5 Halladay is the most underrated starter in the AL. The Twins have had 5...
Hamilton -5.5 total 49
Looking at the numbers after only two games, the one thing that sticks out to me is the run defenses. Calgary has allowed 406 rush yards in 2 games while Hamilton has only allowed 208 rush yards. In the NFL, the team that wins the rushing battle covers over 70% of the...
I'm talking about which teams will lose the most games at the end of the year, not necessarily the worst records right now:
1. Tampa Bay -no brainer
2. Milwaukee- another no brainer
3. Cleveland- this team is God-awful. I can't believe how pathetic they've become.
4. San Diego-looks like...
I like 3 unders today:
Mont/Philly UNDER 9
17 of Philly's last 25 home games have gone under. Montreal has scored more than 5 runs exactly ONE time in their last 18 road games.
Detroit/Boston UNDER 9.5
Redman might be the most underrated starter in the AL cause he's on a terrible team. He...
I think Dusty thinks he's back in spring training and its a split squad game.
"Barry, you take Aurilia, Feliz, Dunston and Bell (at 2B) to Coors and Jeff, Bernard and Santiago will go to Boulder to play the Univ. of Colorado".
2B-Bell CF-Dunston C-Torrealba 3B-Feliz
Maybe with Livan...
If anyone is in Phoenix, please post as to whether the roof will be open or closed. Its "only" 86 degrees there so I'm guessing it will be left open. A simple rule of thumb for the BOB:
Roof open= OVER
Roof closed= UNDER
Check out today's lineup for their 1-3 hitters:
Leadoff: 0 HR .000 BA
2nd: 3 HR .178 BA
3rd: 4 HR .211 BA
Even Benson should be able to look like Cy Young against these stiffs.
I can't imagine taking Appier and laying more than 130 on the road. Here's his last 5 starts:
5 GS
21 2/3 IP
team w/l: 0-5
hits: 45 (more than 2 an inning)
ER: 20
ERA: 8.31
Here's Sheets last 3 home starts:
3 GS
24 2/3 IP
team w/l: 1-2 (He lost one game 1-0 and another 2-1)
hits: 16
ER: 3...
OVER 9 (-115)
I usually bet more unders but I like the over here. We're midway thru June, and this will be the White Sox' first game on artificial turf this season. They already are questionable defensively, and will probably need a game or two to get adjusted to the faster surface. Wright...
Arizona +124
I cannot pass up a chance to take Schilling as a dog. When two of the top pitchers match up, I like to take the dog. Schilling is such a competitor, I think he'll really be focused for this. Pedro's last 2 starts have been somewhat mediocre: both had 6 IP, 7 hits allowed and 4 ER.
UNDER 9.5
Starting lineups have no Daubach, Varitek, Soriano and Ventura. Lilly is in good form and 2 solid bullpens. With the number above the key 9, we get a win on a 5-4 or 6-3 game.
I should post some picks to fade for tomorrow. The rollercoaster ride recently has been unbelievable: 17 consecutive wins (sides) in MLB, then followed immediately by 12 consecutive losses. It definitely makes you realize you're not as good as you think when things are going well. Early leans...
