Good luck sir. When I see your user name and location (Memphis) I can't help but think of iconic disc jockey Dewey Phillips (the man who put Elvis on the map).

That's amazing that you would know that. Few do. Good eye!
You must be an Elvis historian of some sort. The casual Elvis fan
knows of Sam Phillips, but not Dewey (no relation). The name I
use has no relation to either, but to a character in a movie with
Jack Black.

But on my way to work, I do pass by the Sun Studio every day:

People still flock there all year round. It's surreal.

I am a bit of an Elvis historian/50's music fan. "Daddy-O" Dewey Phillips gets virtually no credit, but he did quite a bit to end segregation in this country. Sad how his life ended in shambles (although despite their earlier falling out, Elvis paid his respects when Dewey passed away).

Funny you mention Sun Studio. I visited Memphis 3 years ago and took the tour. I can honestly say that, with the exception of the day I got married and the days my kids were born, that 90 minutes was the best time I have had in my life. Seriously. My wife took my picture sitting at the Million Dollar Quartet piano, and she swears that she never saw me with as a big of a smile on my face. Graceland was great for sure, but Sun Studio was THE best time I ever had on a vacation in my almost 55 years. Anyone who is a fan of early rock and roll, MUST make the trip.

P.S. I wish FDU was doing better tonight, but this conversation has definitely brought back some great memories. Thank you sir
