Yes, a little weird when you think about it, but my philosophy on 2nd Half Wagers is always bet on the Home Team (with at least a -7>) playing a team that struggles on the road (in this Case VMI (1-8 away Rec) had a fairly substantial lead and while I typically like Home Teams with a greater Chalk (-5 is the nut low here) however, Teams with a decent Home Court that finds themselves down at half become very bankable for 2nd Half Wagers. Whatever the case (sorry I don't keen accurate records on this, but years ago My Uncle (he used to post here eons ago) would only bet 2nd Half plays.......And this was one criteria he used. Funny thing was 2nd Half Totals was his true bread and butter, but over the years, I have done fairly well looking for these type of games. Once in awhile you will find a substantial Home Chalk that comes out sloppy, unmotivated, poor luck, hungover, etc. and finds themselves down at half (I will use an example of let's say Duquesne isplaying Fordham today as a -17 Fav (@ Home which they were)...... They get off to a sloppy start and baskets simply aren't falling? Halftime rolls around and finds them down to by 7+ points.....You would probably be looking at a line of -8 or -9 at half. Knowing Duquesne is 7-0 Home Rec playing an inferior opponent (Fordham (1-4 Away)) then it's my philosophy that there is max value on the Home Team to get their shit together at the Half (this is where good Coaching can really come into play), as the Coach gives his team a wake up call (maybe some screaming and cussing) whatever it takes to rally the troops and now you have great Value. Wish I had the numbers but invariably you will see a different game in the 2nd Half, and more often than not, a big Fav will not only come back but often end up covering the entire game. **This was obviously a hypothetical example as I'm well aware how that Fordham game played out (I actually had a small wager on Fordham) but it's neither here nor there.
I hope I haven't totally confused you on this explanation of what I look for. All honesty, I have made a lot of money following this system. Obviously, it requires being able to keep track of every game (Saturdays are a Bitch) as you have a very small window to bet these games. Fortunately, with Live Betting, now most Sportsbooks put up a line fast, so you can get down on the 2nd Half Wager. There are a few other factors I look for but this explanation has taken way too much brain power [emoji38].... It requires a quick decision, but well worth the investment. Some nights there aren't any plays, but you have to keep an eye on the scoreboard as they go to half.
Last season, I made the decision to post all my card, and it took way too much time. I ended up missing some very playable lines at half, so you don't see me hanging around here much because there is too many things to look at on a full slate. I know some guys that will only play 2nd Half plays, to each their own, but it's important to look at the whole picture, and I know some cappers that love the Live Bets which is way too many things happening for me.
I just want to add, that College Basketball is a game of streaks and understanding the ebb and flow will help your overall numbers. In fact, I think I have only posted 3 2nd Half Wagers all season, not because I'm holding onto some big secret, it just doesn't make much sense to post a game at Half when the chances of being able to play it isn't possible (however, the fact that Live Wagering is now common there's a lot of opportunities).
Good Luck
