I agree ASU is the much better team here but what scares me off this game is that the Sun Devils are 0-3 ATS and have a tendency to play to the level of their competition.

Their common opponent was UC Riverside.

ASU was favored by 25, they won by nine at home, 73-64

Montana State was favored by 4, they won by ten at the McCaffrey Classic, 82-72.

Both teams are coming off a one week layoff.

I think ASU will win but don't trust them with my money to beat the spread.

I'm a grad student at ASU and have been living here in Tempe since 1996, so maybe I can shed some light on the SunDevils. They normally play their home games at Wells Fargo Arena, which is on campus next to SunDevil Stadium. It is a fairly small arena, with capacity under 10,000. The problelm is that they have never had a fan base and barely fill half that place except for the U of Arizona game(rivalry) and UCLA game. Now they have to play at spacious America West Arena, home to the Suns. Since dropping a game to Portland St in overtime, the Devils have rebounded to play better ball, although the competition they've faced has been less than stellar. The problem with this team as mentioned before is that they play down to their level of competition. They've had a week off due to Final exams and should be ready to go vs Montana St tonight. The only problem is the support. ASU relies heavily on students for fan support. This is normally no problem with Wells Fargo Arena on campus and within walking distance for just about everybody. However with the game being played in downtown Phoenix, a block from Bank One Ballpark, not as many students will probably make the 20-25 minute drive to AWA. Tough to call with the lack of competition and the game being played off campus, but I would still lean to the Devils slightly. I'll continue to research this game from the local angle and will post my results shortly. Hopefully this helped a little bit and good luck in all your plays tonight.

I like Arizona St. This is their final non-conference game before Pac-10 plays starts. Im guessing they would want to blow out this team here just for the hell of it. If the line stays around 11-12 i like it more than that though is kinda iffy. Plus too Montana St's coach just embarresed himself by degrading american indians, so im sure this might mean more to Az st than any other game.

ASU covered in their last game at America West when they beat Utah by 9 I believe. This line is a joke...hammer the devils

Tend to agree with you Golden one...looked impressive in only appearance at AWA this year beating Utah by 9. This is the largest arena the Montana St players will ever play in and has to be intimidating. This is also a 2-4 with a handful of double digit losses including 20+ beatings at the hands of Fresno and the always frightening NAU lumberjacks. ASU should roll early and never let up.
