for starters, i simply cannot wait for saturday. i will post picks/opinions for all BC races tomorrow night. but, just a thought for now.
take advantage of overseas books that offer matchups. i.e., 3 horses v. halfbridled. with halfbridled at +120. here's my point... you now the morning line on halfbridled (7/5). if your interest is in betting this horse to win, the horse must beat the field - right? trust me, you aren't going to get 7/5 on this horse come post time. 3/5 is what i'm thinking, regardless of the post. now, what odds do you want? again, 13 other horses, forget the post - if your betting to win... worst case, in not winning, your running to beat 3 others.
there are quite a few similar matchup scenarios that i believe are worth a hard look.
i'll be going for a price in the sprint. the filly and mare turf lineup is incredible. heat haze gets bailey. two o'brien horses. three frankels. two juddmonte owned and bred. and, that horse called islington... cuvee in the juvenile same as halfbridled mentioned above. tough posts for both the 2-year olds... of course, the foreigners in the turf (high chapparal). can't help with the classic. doubt i will be able to at post time either. imagine if mineshaft was in the mix...
