Debates over what constitutes great art will likely never come to a conclusion. This is especially true when it comes to a medium as personal to people as music.

While it is difficult to quantify the qualities that make good art, when it comes to music, popularity could be considered one measure. There are certain albums that over decades have drawn the admiration of millions of music fans across the world. Such albums can surely be considered among the best.

By creating an index based on album sales, Billboard performance, and recognition among music fans, 24/7 Wall St. has determined the 100 best albums of all time.

Vanished into vortex
Way too low on the list:

Pearl by Janice Joplin at 94
Bad Company by Bad Company at 93
Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits at 87 unbelievable iconic album
Dirty Deeds by ACDC at 81, give me a fucking break
The Razors Edge ACDC at 72 only because it's a joke it's higher than Dirty Deeds
Appetite For Destruction at 23. Had I known that from the start I wouldn't have even read the list. Fucking Joke.

Too high on the list:
Toxicity by SOAD at 95, I think I personaly own more than 100 albums better than this
Songs From the Big Chair by Tears for Fears at 91, doesn't belong on the list at all
The Downward Spiral by NIN at 84, seriously?
Kick by INXS at 57, get straight the fuck out of here! Ahead of two Zeppelin albums no less.
Core by STP at 41. Good album but nowhere near top 40

Top 20 or so, while not all my favorite kind of music, seems pretty spot on.

Here are 5 of my favorites in no particular order:

The White Album(1968)-The Beatles*
The Wall(1982)-Pink Floyd
Moondance(1970)-Van Morrison
461 Ocean Boulevard(1974)-Eric Clapton
The Last Waltz(1978)-The Band**

*-Funny Story... After he retired Hall of Famer Steve Largent, Wide Receiver for the Seattle Seahawks(1976-1989), was asked which one of the many records he held did he cherish the most. His reply..."The Beatles White Album". :mj07: CLASSIC!!!
