First of three limited overs games starts on Sunday afternoon (Melbourne time) between the all conquering Aussies and the very average Kiwi outfit.
The Aussies are paying a very short $1.30 to the Kiwis $3.50!!
Now after winning plenty on the two 5 day test matches last week, I've gotta say it's actually worth having a small play on the Kiwis!!! :scared
Now before you start thinking ol' PAWA is losing his marbles.....hear me out.
In 2001-02 the Kiwis did win 3 of 4 matches in the One Day format (granted the Aussies have won the past 7 against them when playing in other World tournaments in recent years!!) while here in Oz.
OK...the Aussies are the current World Cup holders in One Day cricket (as well as being the #1 Test Cricket team)....BUT...One Day cricket can be a funny game and they are usually very close results. I think that if you backed the Kiwis for the first 2 games, they are likely to beat the Aussie team in one of the first two games. @ odds of $3.50 for the win you will come out with a profit.
On Sunday the Aussies are resting their #1 strike bowler Glenn McGrath for the second match in Sydney on Wednesday. This leaves the door open for speedster Brett Lee to come back into the squad. Now Lee, as fast as he is, has been known to be a liitle wayward in his bowling. More determined to bowl quick rather than accurate, plenty of batsmen have taken too him and scored heaps of runs against him.
Now call me unpatriotic if you must....but I reckon the $ value is a small play on New Zealand. The $3.50 on offer for NZ is more an over reaction to the 2 test cricket thumpings we gave them during the last two weeks rather than their ability to be right in these games.
NZ to win game 1 - small
Hey Bomber....did you see that NSW bowled out Sth Aust for 29 runs yesterday in the Sheffield Shield cricket?!! Bracken ended up with 7 for 4!! NSW in reply are 2 for 233!! :142lmao:
