Haven't looked at all the numbers but I've been successful a few times this year playing teams just coming off a poor homestand. My thinking is that they would be able to relax away from the home crowd. I'd be interested in digging deeper in to the numbers. This worked with Toronto, Cincy and Oakland to name a few.

Looking at the Mets tonight as a possible play. I'm a NY Mets season ticket holder and this year has been hell but I could see them winning tonight with Leiter and a struggling Cubs offense.

Any thoughts?

I like the logic. I try to cap against teams who had a good road trip, in there first game back, which is the exact opposite, yet a similar trend to what you are looking at. I call it the 'Johnny' theory. (Player gets home after 10 day trip to, Johnny needs braces, katey has the flu,....) I have no data to back up this as a trend play, however it has been a good filter to find games where one team has a decided edge.

If you track this, I am curious for the results. As far as tonight, i have no opinion on the game yet, however I am sure LV made Mets a small favorite for a reason.

One thing I've noticed about the Mets this year is they seem focus on the Braves and have suffered major letdowns after playing them this year. I don't know how being swept is going to play out, but it's a thought.
