Friday, October 8: Hamilton at Winnipeg

UNDER 57.5

This total largely reflects the last three games that Winnipeg played versus the CFL?s top three teams (Toronto, Montreal, BC) where the total points scored averaged 74.

Before their last two games Winnipeg was on a 4-2 roll with new head coach Jim Daley and had the looks of a team that was beginning to turn their season around. In their last two games agains division leading BC and Montreal they allowed 89 points and 1153 yards.

Winnipeg still has the CFL?s top ranked rushing offense for the season and Hamilton is ranked second in the last 10 games behind Saskatchewan. In a must win game I expect Winnipeg will go to the running game often since they?re undefeated when RB Roberts gets 100 yards +

The Winnipeg secondary should be better here as CB Fisher is expected back for this game and newly acquired S Lysack should also play.

Saturday, October 9: Saskatchewan at Ottawa

PASS

I think Saskatchewan could have a letdown here after their huge upset of Montreal last week and Edmonton on deck. It was the first time this season that an opponent had out yarded Montreal

Monday, October 11: BC at Toronto

UNDER 51

BC clinched first place in the West Division last weekend against Winnipeg and now has to hope they can stay injury free over the last four games of the regular season.

BC is stingy against the run allowing only 313 yards in their last six games and they have the best rushing-yard differential in the CFL. Toronto has the top ranked pass defense but the bottom ranked rush defense.

Expect BC to run often here especially since should want to minimize the chances of an injury at the QB position and they have three more meaningless games to play before the playoffs. I also can?t see Toronto lighting up the scoreboard here even if Damon Allen plays. Toronto hasn?t passed for more than 159 yards in any of their last four games.

Monday, October 11: Montreal at Edmonton

PASS

If BC defeats Toronto in the early game this becomes a nothing game for Montreal so it is difficult to predict how Montreal will play here.

Edmonton needs this one so that might give Montreal an incentive to show up but the motivational question mark makes this a pass for me.
