1) Probably the strongest of the 2, Again like i stated Saterday, i only have 3-4 days to spend alot of time capping, the play TCU -4.
Also like before i have studied every stastic available on this game, this is not an attractive play for most, TCU has lost 6 of their last 7 games and is 3-3-1 against the spread in those 7 games. Their last 7 games with the exception of So Miss has been against the top teams in the league with a combined conference record of 29-15, They have not lost any of these games by less than 9 points whether on the road or at home and have come to life thier last 3 games. They lead UAB in almost every stastical catagory. They are 9-4 at home, while UAB is 1-8 on the road, TCU has no probably scoring, their only weakness is defence. With a win tonight they will move into a tie with UAB for the conference record at 2-6, and correct me if i'm wrong if they do have conference tournemnt they would not want to face Memphis in the opening round, this gives them major incentive to play well. Well that's my take on the game, any opinions would be appreciated. TCU gets the win eaiser than expected. A 2 unit play for me.
2) Houston + 9.5, Vegus must be alot smarter than i am, but every power rating that i use on this games has the line at San Diego State at -3. Again when comparing statistics it's like comparing apples and and oranges, I'm banking this bet on really one thing and that is the conferece strength of each team and Houston has held their own with the exception of Memphis and Cincy. Houston has coverd 9 of their 15 lined games and are 5-4 SU on the road. San Deigo State does have a decidely home advantage in this game. Houston leads Conference USA in FT throw percetage, 2nd in Fielf goal team percentage at .482, and shoots .361 from behind arc, they pull down an average of 37.5 rebounds on the offensive and defensive ends an average of 4th in the conference. Houstons only weakness is turnovers, but i like the fact that they crash the boards and a team like that is not afraid to mix it up inside, like i said the number Vegus puts out seems a little to high for me, so i may get burned on this one but it is a 1 unit play for me.
