I posted St. Mary's as my play of the day so I obviously like that play.
No opinion on Arkansas, I don't follow the Razorbacks.
IMO Yale is going to need the 13 points and maybe some more. The Bulldogs strength has been rebounding, they're outrebounding their opponents this year by +7.5 boards/game. Unfortunately Clemson should take away this advantage as they have a 9+ edge vs their opponents.
If Yale played the Ivy/Princeton-style game I'd be less concerned about this spread. But they play a wide-open game which results in some high scores. I could easily see Clemson scoring in the high 80s in this one.
My play in the Ivy tonight is Cornell +19 at Georgia Tech.
The Big Red have been down south since the day after Christmas, losing to JMU 56-40 and Richmond 52-41 in the Spider Invitational.
Georgia Tech is coming off a conference loss to first year Division 1 program IUPUI on 12/29 by 98-92.
GT has struggled at home going 3-3 with losses to both Tulane and IUPUI.
As a result of their loss to IUPUI, IMO GT will be looking past Cornell to their conference game at home vs Clemson on Saturday where they can even their ACC record to 1-1.
Cornell has been living in Days Inns and playing a lot of basketball for the last few days and I think they'll be ready for this game.
Their stingy defense should hold GT to 60 and I'm confident Cornell can score 42.
Senior Walter Prather has been hot in his last couple of games, hitting 9 of 17 three point shots (53%) in the last 3 games. Prather went to Cedar Grove High in Atlanta where he was a two-time USA Today honorable mention All America pick; he should have a big contingent of family/friends in attendence.
Cornell also has four freshmen who are making big impacts: G Cody Toppert leads the team in scoring and is second in rebounding. 6-8 F Gabe Stephenson just started playing three games ago and is already leading the club with 8.7 rebounds per game. 6-8 F Eric Taylor should be back in for tonight's game after missing two games with a high ankle sprain. He was averaging 7.4 rpg and 7.4 ppg before being injured. 5-9 G AJ Castro is leading the team in 3-point percentage (50%) and second in FG percentage (44%) while turning the ball over just 12 times in 232 minutes.
