14-4 so far this season on the system dog plays and my "leap of faith" will get tested today as it has isolated three for Thursday that will definitely test my "intestinal fortitude".
Also like two other plays, here we go.

System Plays

Loyola Chicago + 16 1/2 over Butler
Columbia +21 1/2 over Massachsuetts (superbook you are a prophet)
UTEP +17 1/2 over Nevada

Also like:

Long Beach State +5 over Cal Riverside
Austin Peay -1 over Tenn Martin

Really curious about that Austin Peay game. I really put alot of work and attention on the opening lines and the movement there after to complement or contradict my analysis. Sometimes the movement itself tells a story and sometimes not an obvious story (the obvious story is usually a nightmare). When capping I always take the position that the linesmakers for the most part know exactly what they are doing when setting a line. I believe that most lines are posted in the hopes of getting money on both sides, but i also think there are games where the linesmakers, might know something about a given game and actually post an opening line, trap if you will, that will in fact initiate money being placed heavily on one team.

I sense this Austin Peay game may be one of those situations. Austin Peay has lost every single game on the road this year while Tenn Martin has been unbeatable and undefeated at home....an obvious mismatch of teams with similar talent..right....well i guess wrong, because the line opened up at Austin Peay -3 1/2 and as of this writing the line has swiftly dropped to a pick em in some books. The reaction Vegas wanted...maybe?. Vegas is in the business of building billion dollar casinos not giving away money freely to the public. I may have just overanalyzed the crap out of this game and ignored the obvious, but in my experience the obvious tends to get you in trouble...for better or worse, Im going with Austin Peay as a pickem.

I hope the system is right for you-but you are on 2 of the WORST teams in Columbia nd UTEP. I have watched them and they are both BRUTAL. Would not want them to have to cover anything for me.

Columbia can't score but they can play D. Last year, they were in the top 10 in terms of Points Against.

Depends which UMass team shows up: the one that beat #25 NC State or the one that lost to the Fordham team that had lost 20 of their L21.

I actually like Columbia here, I think UMass will be looking ahead to Saturday afternoon's ATL-10 game at St. Joe's.

21-22 is a lot to cover against a team that can hold you under 60.

And Columbia is bad, but they're getting a little better and they should score 40 tonight.

I played the Lions +11 1H.

wannabe -- don't know when you saw Columbia play, but they are getting better. Their best player 6-10 senior center Chris Wiedemann missed 7 of the first 12 due to injury and he's just now starting to round back into form. Even though he's only played 5 games he still leads the Ivy in blocked shots with 17. Columbia lost 8 players including 4 starters to graduation so they have a lot of young guys who are taking a little while. I really like 6-8 freshman Dragutin Kravic who played hs ball here in Manhattan last year.

Points may be hard to come by when two of the nation's top 50 defensive teams meet, as coach Steve Lappas' Minutemen step out of Atlantic 10 Conference play for the next to last time this season to host Ivy League entrant Columbia before returning to their league schedule Saturday afternoon at East Division rival Saint Joseph's.

In case you missed the announcement, UMass player Marcus Cox has been suspended and won't play tonite.

Cox comes off the bench and averages 4.2 ppg; he played in all of the Minutemen's first 12 games.

Those 4 points might be the difference in getting the cover.:D

Nice Call Superbook

Nice Call Superbook

Nice Call on Columbia as well Superbook..it looks like we were on our own on that one but I completely understand why. It was a hard game to take. I felt even worse about the game after seeing Box on Mass since I think Box is a helluva capper. I dont like being on the other side of Box.

You deserve more credit, you picked this game with your mind, I used a computer!!!!

Lets see if the gods of good fortune stay with us on UTEP

Thanks and congrats

Dont sweat it...I was scared too!!! Especially with money riding on them. I just have confidence in getting a long term profit by seasons end, but believe me there will be nights when it wont be pretty. These games are not meant to be played sporadically, so Im in it for the long haul.

Thanks

DD --

Thanks for the props but at 16-4 your system is certainly better than my capping. The Ivy is the conference I follow the closest -- don't know if you were here last year but I hit over 75% of the Ivy plays I posted. I can't wait for those Friday night games to start next week.

BTW at what time of day do you run your system? And do you use the current line at the time? If this is proprietary you don't have to tell me.

Hit a few more of these and you'll have some guys from Vegas calling you looking to buy your system.

Good job.

BTW I agree with your thinking on Austin Peay -- I've got a big middle on that one: A-P +1.5 and T-M +3.

I think Eastern Washington might fall into the same category, I took the middle there too with both sides at +1.5.

FWIW I think the opening line at Oly on Columbia was +19 which reinforces your thinking that the oddsmakers know exactly what they're doing.

T-V -- first game was last Saturday (Dartmouth @ Harvard).

I posted the winner for the Half and for the game. So I'm 2-0 going into their re-match this Saturday at Dartmouth.

Zac,

Good deal and again I appreciate the kudos. Im glad they have been working for us both. By any chance are you from that small town called West, Texas with the Little Czech Bakery?? Man they have the best kolaches and donuts in the nation. Been there many a time on trips to Dallas.

Superbook thanks again and also for telling me about your Ivy league record. Ill definitely be on your coatails. I have never had alot of luck with that conference, well unless the system likes them, but on my own i havent been strong in the Ivy league so ill be with you on those buddy. As for when we run the plays, well it all depends, we have to enter new data and of course enter the line at the time of entry so sometimes we get to it early sometimes not till later in the day. Like most guys here we both have full-time jobs and our daily work activites dictate when we can get to the plays....damn job, dont you hate when that happens.

HaHa..i dont know about Vegas wanting any part of this system as im sure they are doing fine on their own.....but if Jim Fiest wants it, it wont be cheap!!!

In all seriousnes, lets wait till the season is over and see where we stand. So far so good but still a way to go

Go Miners!!!

don't know anything about the ivy league, so everytime i see their games on the sched, i just pass em over.....

but that's what i like about this forum.....

certain people have a certain "FEEL" for certain conferences, and they do well at it...

why NOT coat- tail????

i'll be waiting.....

still gotta get outta my ass outta the -20 units hole in college hoops.
