Hello all my old friends (and I hope) all my new friends here at MJ's. Man O Man, lots of new names.............hardly recognize the place anymore. Still a few familiar names............Madjack himself and of course, the old stat man IE.
Found a late game tonight that hits all my paramaters and thought I'd share my thoughts with the MJ crew.
Toronto (+125) for 4 units
This number seems to be set on the fact that it is the first start of the year for Blue Jay Chad Gaudin. However, he is not a natural rookie....................he has a career ERA of 4.25, all in the batter tough AL and has only given up 8 HR in 82.2 IP. Not bad, not bad.
Let's now look at Seattle starter Ryan Franklin. He
has lost his last 3 starts and Seattle has lost 7 of his last 8 starts.............scoring a total of 15 runs in his last 8 starts. In 3 career starts vs Toronto he has an ERA of 10.08.....and WHIP of 2.12 and the BA against him is .381......not pretty numbers.
Franklin has also struggled with the long ball........giving up 11 HR's in his last 49 IP.
Seattle as a team has struggled as well. If we take out a 2-1 series victory over the hapless Tampa Bay Devil Rays (19-32 YTD), then the Mariners are a woeful 6-18 their last 24 games.
The Blue jays are 13-12 on the road YTD and are the play tonight as a good $$$ dog.
4 units Blue Jays(+125)
Good luck out there tonight,
Tiger
