here's a great example of "over-managing"...

I've got Yankee /Clev gm under 9.5....
Score 2-1 yankees, bottom 7th

Talbot (clev p) has 1 out, 1on and gets removed after 100th pitch... he scattered 9 hits... not bad vs yanks

reliever comes in.... single... wild pitch... intentional walk... grand slam... then another homer... then double... then single, then sac fly.. 8-1... nice "work" men!! :0074

It must suck as a manager to know your bullpen is dogshit.... but let a guy throw 110 pitches or so, really... it's been done before

maybe it'll stay under, its 8-1 in bottom 8th

I've got winners on:
Philly/Atl Over...
Fla/Milw Over...
Fla...
Pitt tied...

NOTE:
Pitt is normally an early start under...
Cubbies on the road...6 ov... 14 un... 4 ties

I should've just played the obvious under w/both tms so solid that direction.. :banghead:

last trip, cubs had 4 unders and 1 tie... so I started an over chase... drat

These managers that have not pitched should not be allowed to manage their staffs. Your starters are better tan your relievers....FACT. If your starter is throwing strikes, let him pitch. Acta takes out a solid starter to bring in a broke dick lefty (yankees kill lefties BTW). He struggles after coming in with a runner on and loads the bases. A-Rod comes up. HMMMMMMM. If I was a complete moron, what would I do???? I know, I'll rush to get a righty ready to come in and try to handle a bases juiced vs A-Rod situation. What a dope. If you have ever pitched at the college level or higher, you know how ignorant that move is. The pressure to come in and throw strikes with the bases loaded and not being 100% ready is hard to imagine....throw the best player in the AL in the mix as your batter and you have a blood bath waiting to happen.

PS: Pitch counts are shit once you get out of the first month of a season. Ask any pitcher that grew up before pitch counts "mattered". You build endurance and arm strength by throwing. Every arm is different. When the ball starts getting up in the zone, he starts walking people, or the guy says he is getting tired, THAT'S WHEN YOU TAKE HIM OUT. Glavine said he was having arm issues in the minors and his pitching coach made him throw MORE. He said he learned an incredible lesson about his arm that year and always remembered it. Babying arms is BS. There is a time for it, but once you are an adult and have been throwing for 3 months, you need to strengthen your arm and build it up, not baby it.
