If the list was adjusted for inflation and "quarters spent" was included, that list would be mighty different.

doubt it. the most popular games today are way more popular than any game that ever required quarters to play.

I disagree...........if you took every video game on earth that was ever invented, took every human being on earth, and put them all in the same place and said "every game you see costs 25 cents", many of the games on that "Top 50 list" would not make it.

Yes Call of Duty is massively popular, but it does not come close to Pac Man, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, etc. The popularity of video games in the early 80's was ridiculous. Almost everybody played those games in the early 80's. Go up to anybody on the street and ask if they played Pac Man, the answer will be yes, not so for Call of Duty and others on that Top 50 list.

Hold on Cochese.

Space Invaders grossed 2.7 BILLION dollars in quarters. (Late 70s early 80s dollars)

Pac Man another 2.5 billion.

I was just about to pull up the numbers, you beat me to it. Many people don't realize just how popular video games were "back in the day"..........yes right now some games have huge followings, but NOWHERE CLOSE to what it was back in early 80's.

you're out of touch with reality. Overwatch, League of Legends, Counter Strike, etc. are all wildly more popular than Pac Man or Donkey Kong ever was. Even sports games like FIFA are way more popular than those games ever were.

Well I think it is you who are a bit out of touch. I have been to the pack stadiums for LOL and others, but that does not come close to the popularity of the early 80's. I have seen what a game like LOL does in South Korea, but multiply that by a factor of 3 and you get Pac Man and other games of the 80's.

It is not even close.....Pac Man destroys LOL and others.

The numbers back it up, add inflation and those games you listed above don't even come anywhere close to Pac Man or Donkey Kong.

Go ahead.......walk up to anybody and ask them about Pac Man and ask them about LOL, my point will be made.

Oh and I wager at DraftKings on eSports and bet on them at Sportsbooks, I am well aware how popular those games are.
