Be advised, if you make a deposit at 5 Dimes, of say, $2000, and you decide you want to withdraw the money before making any wagers for whatever reason(no bonus involved) you have to pay a 5% fee, unless you first bet at least $2000. This fee is to withdraw your OWN money. Maybe this is posted in the "rules". It's a scumbag move any way you look at it.

Why would anyone do this?

It's extremely difficult, for the books and the players, to get money in/out these days.

The last thing they need is someone depositing, not playing a penny, and then requesting a payout immediately. They are casinos, not banks.

Sorry. I'm with dimes on this one. 5% seems generous. I would think they would charge a larger fee for doing something this silly.

Makes no sense.

First of all, I am not saying NO MONEY was played. There were bets made. Secondly, it was not a total withdrawal, just a percentage. Silly? How bout a guy finds a play he wants to make at a different shop; better line, whatever, and would rather take his shot there? You rush to judgement without asking any questions and being critical based on limited information. Why in the fuck do I have to roll over cock? There were no bonus's or free plays; nothing. Also, it was EASY to make a deposit there. No so to get a payout. No big deal as I'll play it and go from there.

I can't really criticize them for this. As has been mentioned they are a bussiness not a bank. Processing is not that easy for books these days, they are smart in this case. If someone doesn't like it they always have the option of not playing there.

Where it is real F ing COLD
If you want to compare shop prices for a wager then you should spread the 2000 around to a couple, not decide to withdraw to place wager with diff book and what IE said, you contadict yourself. Just put the whole 2 g on Seattle tomorrow then cash out 4 gs except the 5% :mj07:

No goodluck and I hope your plays kick their ass

The $2000 EXAMPLE was just that. My actual situation was NOT the same. I wanted to take 40% out and I had already made 6 plays. Problem here is living in S.Nevada actual brick and mortar books don't have any conditions like this. I had front money in a casino. When I went to the cage to get it I did'nt have to pay juice. They were more that happy to have my money thinking it would be theirs soon enough. I guess if you only have off shore books to deal with you have to accept whatever stipulations they set forth.

Stealth boxing lines in Vegas

Stealth boxing lines in Vegas

If you live in Nevada why do you use an offshore? Convienience? Better lines?

Legit question. The answer is LINES!! The sport books here will post lines on Pacquaio/Mayweather/Cotto, and stuff like that. Mega-PPV stuff. I mean even the casinos that are HOSTING the freakin fights sometimes don't have lines posted. If you had to deal with the smug, arrogant fools at the books like I have over the years, you would'nt bet with them either. Mayweather walks into the "M" and they kiss his ass. Major publicity for the place. See how they treat guys who bet $500-$1000. Like you don't exist. But bottom line, is LACK of lines. Honestly, I love Friday nite fights, and even more love having action on something I have a strong opinion on. It's sometimes impossible to find that stuff here.
I just wanted to add a perfect example. On August 13, 2011 Agbeko-Mares are fighting at the Las Vegas Hard Rock casino. Its on Showtime and is for a championship. The Hard Rock DOES NOT have any lines/props posted for this. They are hosting the fight! So I can't drive 20 minutes to place a bet. I have to bet with an off shore book 5000 miles from where I live. Makes sense, right. Like hell. Sure, they will post a line in a couple of weeks, but maybe now after its been available I don't like the odds anymore. I like what I see NOW.

Was in town for the series and was aghast at the service in general. the whole town took a hit in that regard when Harrah's made their aquisition few years ago. Ask for a drink at the book and they all ask for these drink tickets? Billagio is the only place left on the strip that comps drinks in the book no question asked. I was at the Rio during dinner break one nite and wanted to get in bet on one of the UFC fights and they told me they had a $100 max?! gave me some ridiculous explanation how they couldn't aford to lose bunch of money on UFC fight but if I want to come back and bet 100K in NFL no prob? wtf?
During my time in town I noticed the sometimes huge descrpency in the lines between my offshore/local and the vegas book lines. I obviously enjoyed in having additional outs being in nevada. What I was trying to figure the whole time was who, in general, had the sharpest/softest lines? vegas or offshore? gl

Retraction; sort of...

Perhaps I was a tad harsh in my comments regarding 5Dimes. At least they POST lines. More than I can say for Vegas books as far as boxing goes.
