Cubs +113
Listed pitchers Maddox and Loaiza
Line found at Hollywood

Both teams have gone 2-1 when these pitchers have been on the hill in their last three games. Although Maddox has been the better of the two. He is carrying a whip of 1.20 and an era of 3.60 compared to Loaiza's rather high whip of 1.47 and era of 6.38. When you look at the teams they have faced in their last three games Maddox's numbers really stand out. Maddox has faced St. Louis, Houston and Anaheim and has given up a combined 8 runs. Those three teams have very good offenses whereas Loaiza has faced Cleveland, Florida and Atlanta and has given up a combines 13 runs. 6 of them came against the rather offensively challenged Atlanta Braves. Loaiza has also been stung by the home run ball giving up four in his last three games compared to Maddox giving up zero.

The offenses find both teams in very good current form. Throughout the month of June the Sox have scored 133 runs landing them in 5th place in the major leagues in that category whereas the Cubs have scored 113 runs putting them in 11th place. In home runs the Sox are in 2nd place with 37 and the Cubs are in 9th place with 28. In slugging percentage the Sox are number one with .498 and the Cubs in 6th place with .451. While the Sox have some small advantages offensively the Cubs do have the better pitcher on the hill today and also have a rested bullpen which like the last time we played the Cubs with Maddox on the hill we are expecting him to take us right into Farnsworth and Hawkins territory.

Cubs as a small dog seems like a good play to me.
