They just posted a number that said Italy has surveyed the deaths number and that it was 88 percent had 2 or 3 "pre morbid" conditions. In laymans terms,,what would that mean? "Pre Morbid"?
Like yyz and os said, pre-morbid means illnesses/chronic conditions/past events before the current covid-19 infection or whatever you?re medical problem is.
Usually it?s Diabetes, COPD, HIV, morbid obesity, or many other diagnoses. Sometimes it?s referred to as remote history with things like stroke, head injury or maybe leukemia. If you take a prescribed medication for anything every day, it?s probably a pre-morbid condition.
Not a medic, but it's a pre-existing condition like high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, etc.
