Obviously much smarter people than I decide these things but $70 for any PPV is just stupid. If people are going to get together and chip in to watch the fight they will do so whether it is $7, $70 or $100. BUT a lot more people would get the fight if it were $25 bucks. I know I would get several a year. But I won't pay $70. Its just not worth it.

that's why boxing has been pushed off the mainstream

"the bunker"
i`m surprised that more people weren`t p.o.`ed by the ufc`s "fight pass' gouge....it`s not overly expensive, but it gets the camel`s nose under the tent.....

and btw, great boxing cards are few and far between anymore...much as everybody hated a guy like don king, the one thing he did do was put multiple interesting fights on ppv cards(and throw in an occasional spectacular card) ....now all you get is the "prospect vs the fossil" walkover b.s.that you see regularly from golden boy or the "two perennial lower fringe contenders".......

this is an "o.k." card by today`s standards...felix is a solid prospect and they`re hamstrung a bit by the martinez pull out....

just one example:

Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, United States Saturday 13 December 2003

Cory Spinks W Ricardo Mayorga MD 12 12

Bernard Hopkins W William Joppy UD 12 12

John Ruiz W Hasim Rahman UD 12 12

Zab Judah W Jaime Rangel KO 1 12

Wayne Braithwaite W Luis Andres Pineda TKO 1 12

Luis Alberto Perez W Felix Machado UD 12 12

Travis Simms W Alejandro Garcia KO 5 12

/the mayweather/canelo card was solid...
