Reds/Brewers OVER 9 (-115) [Lehr/Bush]: Double

Brew Crew tries to fight off the home sweep so we can expect the bats to come out early. Their opposition is Justin Lehr; a dude coming off a 6-run drubbing by the Pirates, a decent start against the Nationals, and a miraculous start against the Cardinals where he only allowed 1 run through 6, but allowed 2 base runners per inning in doing so. His K/BB ratio sits at 7:11, and has allowed base runners to reach 45% of the time on the road. This could snowball quickly as MIL tries to fend off a sweep from their division foes. The Brew Crew sends Dave Bush to the mound who may have trouble finding his rythm as he hasn't started in over two months. The Reds blew him up for 5 earned through 4 IP in a start against them earlier in the year. Daryl Cousins works a pitcher-friendly zone behind the dish but these two will need a lot of help to keep this one under.

Phillies -1.5 (-115) [Happ/Morton]: Double

The Phillies have had enough of these pesky Pirates and will unleash the fury on them in the series finale tonight. The Phils are legit World Series contenders and they aren't going to go out and lose a series to the Pirates in late August. Pirates pitchers have held them in check for two games but that changes with Charlie Mortion (seriously?) today. Phils got a look at him last year and blasted him for 5 runs in 2 innings of work. This one has boat race written all over it. JA Happ takes the bump for Philly. Outside of the Cards getting to him a bit a month ago, dude has been lights out posting QS after QS. His ERA of 1.72 on the road in 80 innings this year has to raise some eye brows. JA gets it done on the road, especially against these hacks. Expect him to go deep as we know Charlie isn't going to turn this one over to that bullpen until he absolutely has to. Philly is 15-5 in game three of a series coming off of a win. They know how to close.

Red Sox -112 [Danks/Tazawa]: Single

Love this price. Maybe I'm getting sucked in here. Do the White Sox need this game? Absolutely. But it's not like the BoSox don't need em' all right now as well. Danks has thrown very well lately, but Tazawa just shut down the red-hot Yanks for 6 strong; he's only allowed 1 earned in 11 IP at Fenway. Danks' previous starts vs Boston have varied from solid to piss poor, so who knows which Danks shows up. But we do know that the ChiSox have yet to get a look at Tazawa so it's all new to them. Boston goes for the sweep tonight against a team that is only 12-25 on the year in the third game of the series. Pretty nice price for such a remarkable home team that is starting to hit it's stride.

It's actually the 4th game of this series

Good eye Taker. I missed that. Either way my view was that the ChiSox don't tend to close out series very strongly (3-5 in game 4; 1-4 when following a loss)

Also you don't cash totals until the game goes a full 8 1/2 innings...not trying to burst your bubble but you never know what may happen. Good Luck!!!

Miller Park does have a roof right so I wouldn't worry about rain just hope the lights don't go out;)

John Danks has struggled against the Red Sox lately, with a 6.06 ERA in his past three starts, but he's 6-3 away from home and 3-1 so far in August.

Junichi Tazawa is 2-0 at Fenway Park with a 0.82 ERA, but that WHIP (1.45 at home, 1.87 overall) spells trouble, with a capital T.

also white sox are avoiding the 4 game sweep I believe. ask any major leaguer that is a hard feat to accomplish.. and doesn't happen to often..

best of luck

Let's go for one more...

Mariners -155 [Davies/Fister]: Double

Feels a little funky laying this juice with the M's without Felix on the mound but this is much more so a fade on the Royals than a play on the M's. KC has won only once in their past 7 games, that one being a gem tossed by Greinke against the Royals' AL Central basement-dwelling butt buddies (Cleveland). Seattle has pitched well a a team lately with an ERA of 2.99 over their last 10, (under 2 in the bullpen). The Royals have not fared well in Seattle, winning only 5 times in their last 21 games and they probably won't get much help form their SP tonight in Kyle Davies. He has been shelled for 6+ ER in 3 of his last 5 outings, one of which was a stellar 3.2, 8 earned performance against these same Mariners about three weeks ago. Countering for the M's is Doug Fister. The jury is still out on this guy but he has made three starts this year, all quality coming against CLE, NYY and CHW. Not bad at all. He should give them a great chance to win tonight.:11jackson
