The horse world held its collective breath as a $888,888 bet was placed on Afleet Alex to Win the 137th running of the Belmont Stakes with MVPracebook.com. The bet was placed with an online racebook, as opposed to betting into the track pool, "because the Asian Gentleman making the large wager did not want to affect his odds by diluting the pool", stated Dalton Wagner, Proprietor of MVPracebook.com. "The fact is that a wager this size, this early, could have diluted the pool in a huge way affecting all Afleet Alex bettors negatively", stated a source close to the Belmont race.

As anyone who bets thoroughbreds, harness or dogs knows, when you place a wager in a pari-mutuel pool, you are automatically diluting your winnings. This is considered the largest disadvantage to betting at the track or via any simulcast facility. Legitimate online racebooks that are located offshore, like MVPracebook.com, do not hit the pool and therefore offer a huge advantage to the serious horse bettor. You simply win more!

MVPracebook.com is located in San Jose, Costa Rica and offers phone and Internet wagering on 300+ worldwide tracks, full track odds on win/place/show, up to 7% cash back on wagers, immediate cash bonuses when you deposit & sports, casino and poker wagering. More details can be found at MVPracebook.com or by calling 1-888-771-9076.

This a win or a show bet?

If it's to show this is more common than you would think. Maybe not to this magnitude but a 100k show bet isn't out of the question in these situations.

Asians are not that stupid. Would be more credible if they said Briton or American. These foreign books are so full of s**t

Yeah good point about the books, and I have a hard time believing the wager limits were waived to such an extreme level.
