Hudson Valley area.....NY
Hard to believe its been so many years that have passed us .. We all know where we were that day.
The suburb of Orange County NY where I lived lost about 300 people that day.
I remember our Guidance Councilor got a call from her mother and she left the building immediately. The secretary came into my office and told me her mother called Her sister worked for a stock market company in one of the buildings . Later on that day although there was any official news, she worked on the 90th floor and was thought to be missing. Her body was never identified or found.
What stands out more then anything and I said it here before in past posts
A commuter had parked his car in the train station parking lot. He never came home and his car stood out in the parking lot by itself. His wife refused to move the car.. Her hope was he will return on the train and pick up hos car.. it made the local paper and people starting putting flowers on it. I remember driving by the parking lot and seeing it covered in flowers Then months later the 1st snowfall and this car kinda became a memorial .. You would drive by it and look in the parking sitting all by itself .. think it was out there for about 3-4 months then one day it was gone ..no explanation when it was removed.. But that car was such a reminder to what happend that day on sept 11
The other memory I have today is last year or 2 years ago when my wife and I went to the 9/11 museum. Unreal and can't even explain it But in one of the rooms and I wrote this a few years ag.o there was a side wall that many people could easily miss or pass
It was a picture and a witness explaining what he saw from another building across the street from the Towers. He says " he watched this lady on the 85 th floor on the ledge about to jump. She was in a nice outfit and looked down . But before she jumped she put her hands on her dress to hold it down as she jumped .. Imagine what was going thru her mind and she had the dignity to hold her dress down falling to her death. She was never identified.. I just sat there in that side room trying to think about her.
So we all have memories of 9/11 but these 2 images of that commuter and lady on the ledge make me remember what today is .. hope everyone is staying safe and being careful Peace to all

On the course!
I haven't heard much about 9/11 today. Seems odd.

Perhaps people have too much on their minds today?
