The three games that I like this week are as follows.

Kentucky -17' vs. Indiana
Georgia -5 @ South Carolina
Louisville +2' @ Colorado St.

I will not pull the trigger on all of these because these feel too much like Homer plays for me. The Kentucky looks as if EVERYTHING points to a UK wager AND playing against IU. It seems too easy, so I will probably pass here.

Being a UGA grad most definitely skews my view here. USC has had our number in the recent past even though we have outmanned them. Once again, talent-wise, we are better than 5 points the superior. Factor in home field advantage for the Cocks and the master, Lou Holtz, calling the shots it is tough to lay the cabbage on the Dogs.

Louisville is not as bad as the team that was crippled by Kentucky two weeks ago. That is the game that everyone will remember. Couple that with the fact that Colorado St. beat a ranked, albeit overrated, Colorado team and the public should be all over the Rams. The line at 2' shows that books feel that giving a full field goal to the Cards here would be a bad move. I like Louisville to win this game straight out.

I would love to hear other takes on these games. good luck to all.

...as always, I respect your opinion, but if L'ville's O-line doesn't step up and do something, Ragone is going to spend the rest of the season running for his life.... I think that the public will still favor L'ville because of 1.) Ragone and 2.) Col. St. not covering LW at UCLA....

I can see that thin air taking it's effect on the young O-line late in the game, but then again, what do I know. LOL

...good luck, dawg. :D

p.s. It's gonna be one hellofa battle between the hedges when the Ice Man and the Vols come knocking on Oct. 12. ;)

UGA-USC is a tough one for me to figure (I'm a Clemson fan, and I went to law school at UGA, so I know these programs well). UGA looked good in game 1, I thought, and should have some momentum here, while USC lost a bunch of talent from the D and looked awful last week. Still, the Cocks were in a highly negative technical situation last week, so the poor performance probably was predictable. Also, the news of the NCAA investigation may have affected USC last week, and they should be less distracted this week. This would be a good bounce-back spot. Major line swing from last year -- 13 points. Don't see that the Dawgs are much improved (though they were plenty good last year), and I doubt the Cocks have dropped enough to warrant such a line adjustment (though this assumes last year's line was set accurately). I have technical angles pointing to each team here.

Lean to USC. As always, I will pull for the visitor to ruin the day for the maximum number of fans. I could easily see a USC-loss but-cover.

UL and UK are both superior to their opponents and have technical angles backing them. I'm betting 'em both myself.

Taoist--very good points. If I decide to play this game, it will be just before kickoff because bettors may be able to push it across the field goal.

As you may or may not know, my fiancee is a UT grad. We were in Adelphia for the Wyoming game two weeks ago, and I was actually wearing a UT hat. My future father-in-law and I go round and round about the old IceMan. I personally don't think he is all that talented, but the guy knows how to win ballgames. You're right about it being a battle this year. Hopefully, it will be three in a row for the Silver Britches!

Good luck to you!
