let's see, you had Holmgren kicking a FG with under 2 minutes left, NO screwing around with 2 point conversions early instead of kicking (so they were tied late insyead of ahead), and I'm sure there were others.
but, amazingly, there was a coach who did the right thing late in a game -- Dick Jauron of the Bears.
down 15, Bears score a TD, and instead of doing the dumbsh-t thing and going for 2 there (and it's dumb because if you don't get it, you force yourself into needing 2 scores), he actually did the right thing and kicked to make it a 1 score (plus 2 point conversion) game.
of course, things shook out perfectly for Bears backers, but it was refreshing to see one coach who actually gets it at the end of games.
