Perennial favourites Brazil have attracted money ahead of the next big football tournament in Germany in one time. By then Barcelona FC ace Ronaldinho will be at the peak of his powers but greats like Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo will be well past their prime.

South American teams don?t win European based World Cups (the exception being Brazil winning in Sweden in 1958) and so look to a European team to prevail. There is a possibility that because so many South Americans play in Europe now they will be acclimitised, but so many play in the heat of southern Europe which is less of a shock than the game played in northern European leagues like Germany.

It seemed Brazil struggled for goals toward the end of their campaign, but Ronaldo led the way and we all know that he, Adriano, two-time defending World Player of the Year Ronaldinho, Kak?, and just about anyone else on the pitch is capable of putting the ball in the back of the net.

They have the ultimate captain in right-back Caf?, who is the only player to play in three World Cup finals games, winning two titles. The man has been around seemingly forever, winning trophies at both the club and country level. This team is so loaded with so much talent, it?s hard to fathom someone coming in and beating this side at their best. They will have to be caught on an off-day to be had. Brazil is in prime position to claim world title number six.

But can the Brazilians win it all against tough European oppositions?

The hosts Germany look interesting but are too short at 13/2. After that Argentina may also struggle leaving the usual suspects of France, Italy, England, Holland and Spain. All these teams threaten to win FIFA World Cup but a paltry return of two between France, Holland, England and Spain suggest that a European winner is likely to be Italy.

Don't know how you got Brazil down as 4/1 since Bodog has it at +240 and it's been under 3/1 everywhere in the world for over a month now.

Nice write-up though.

Yup. That was a clear TYPO on Brazil.

Btw, did I mention I like Holland's chances, too?
