hey folks. planning a vegas trip next may. going w/a bunch of couples and looking for the best place to stay.(sportsbook isn't that important for me that time of yr). some of the ladies on the trip aren't big on gambling, so looking for nice amenities.

thanks in advance.

(jack - i know this is a little off-topic but i was afraid i wouldn't catch any traffic in the other forum and it is early in the week. thanks)

Treasure Island

Located centrally on the strip, 2 spread out nice open casino's

Around $69.00, depending on date.

Nice rooms, but who spends more than 2 hrs in the room anyway!

The tops is:

The tops is:

The Bellagio or the Venetian (very expensive)

I thought the MGM was by the far the best value !

Go MGM !

Vegas Baby !!
I would have to say The Mirage. There is a more upscale crowd, beautiful sportsbook, best entertainer in Vegas, (Danny Gans), and plenty of places to eat. The staff is overly friendly, and the comps work out GREAT. My last trip to Vegas was 2 days @ The Paris, (all comped), and 5 days at The Mirage. My total charged to my credit card at the mirage for all my meals, (we ate very well), and my 5 nights room was $77. I play a fair amount of video poker, and a few 4 hour sessions on the 3 card poker and blackjack tables, but I didn't drop MAD LOOT to get these comps.
good luck on your trip!! :) :)

I like to stay off-strip myself.

The best places for the $$ in order of preference are JW Marriot in Summerlin, Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, Suncoast in Summerlin and Golden Nugget in Downtown Vegas.

JW Marriot is beautiful. Huge rooms(over 550 sq ft) and balcony's. The ladies would love it.

In terms of room size the Suncoast is next with huge rooms (over 500 sq ft) , one wall is all window. Depending on when you go the Suncoast also has huge wonderful 2 bedroom 2 bath suites with huge (4 people) whirlpool tubs in each bathroom for about a $100.

Summerlin is about 20 min NW of the Strip. Henderson is about 15 min SE of the strip so a car is necessary.

If at all possible visit the Whisky Sky bar at Green Valley Ranch it is too Groovy!!

Enjoy!!

I tend to agree with DoubleDown about Mirage.I was there at the end of Aug. with other people & everyone agreed that the Mirage was a top notch place. Sportsroom has everything you could want. The restaurants were very good, especially the Brazilian rest.(can't remember the name). My friend who is a poker nut loved the poker rooms(won his money playing the 10pm-6am shift). Also liked the lounge, very lively.
Thought the MGM was too crowded.

Good luck & enjoy!

On the Strip ....
Mirage, is in the middle of it all. Lots of things to do in the area if gambling is not your cup of tea.

A little off the Strip......

Palms (the place ROCKS) & across the street is the Rio (fun stuff)

Alot off the Strip.......
Green Valley Ranch.
