Ok, so this may be a bit of a rant, but I wanted to pass this on for others as a warning...
I've been using Bookmaker for about 3 years now, and up until today have never had a problem. For the most part they do a good job, but something happened today that has me pretty pissed.
I made a small deposit using their ECheck method a couple of days ago. I just checked my online bank statement today and realized they charged me twice. When I contacted them about this they told me to e-mail them the statement. No problem, right? But I figure I better be safe and ask if that means I can just send the link to that page. No, I can't. I need to print the statement, then scan it, then e-mail it to them. I then ask why I should have to do the extra legwork since it's their error. They tell me that's what this certain department requests. I then tell them I don't have access to a scanner, so this is going to end up being a lot of trouble for me because of, again, THEIR error. Will there be a bonus or anything like that for my trouble? No.
So am I overreacting to this? Yes, I realize this is something I can take care of. It's not like they're ripping me off. I just think it's ridiculous that I, the one who the mistake happened TO, is the one that has to rectify the problem. I think that's ridiculous. The funny thing is I was just on a rant last weekend in a thread about how nobody takes responsibility for their actions/mistakes anymore. I guess this is another example of that.
Maybe what they're asking is standard. I don't know. It just didn't sit well with me. Has anybody else had to deal with something like this before? Am I just being crazy?
Ok, rant over. Thanks...
