I'd like to take a moment of your time for those that read this post and salute my fellow veterans. Was drafted in 1967 and stayed in to 1970 (during the Viet Nam War). To you who have served in the armed forces, I commend you and I thank you for the sacrifices both you and your families have made or are making now.

Saw somrthing on the Today show about a soldier coming home for R & R-met his family who didn't know he was coming home.
Wife was crying, daughter was crying, and I welled up myself.

God Bless us all.

Here! Here!

I have a deep sense of gratitude for all of our veterans.

Funny thing is is that without the Vietnam War, I would not be here. My mom was engaged to be married to a boy who was drafted to the war. He did not make it back. Some years later, my mother and father met and here I am. I always think of that situation and how his service to our country indirectly made me who I am.

Beautiful post, CS.

Just got out of class and I thought it was a class act that my Professor halfway through his lecture stopped for a moment of silence at 11 EST, unlike most Profs I had over the years...

Thanks to those who sacraficed...

chain saw, a sincere thank you for your service to our country.

In a country with all to many hallmark holidays I really wish much more attention was given to this day and the veterans were given the respect they truly deserve.

I also saw that piece on TODAY SHOW, was very moving. Also the peace regarding the medal of honor recipients.

I didn't see your thread, sorry for repeating it.

God bless you and your cohorts, and thank you for your sacrifices.

Best
