The first half goal scored by Aaron Ramsey during Arsenal v Liverpool Barclays Premier League match on Monday 24th August, 2015 was astonishingly disallowed due to offside positional play by the scorer Aaron Ramsey. But a review of actions revealed no offside positioning by any Arsenal player let alone Aaron Ramsey. This denied the gunners the much desired three points and one goal that could have helped them to improve on their table ranking after three matches in the newly started 2015/2016 league season. I am of the opinion that FIFA should review this their rule that 'referee's decision is final' in football tournaments.
Every FA should setup Post-Match Reviewing body to review and correct most of these wrong decisions being made by match officials on the pitch. This will equally help in checking corrupt practices by match officials in any match.
Where such bodies exist, they have NEVER reversed such decisions in football. Why? But such decisions can be reversed for example in boxing. A previously declared winner can be stripped of the title if found wanting after all. Even in other sporting events like in the Olympics, medal holders have been stripped of the medals they previously won. This might come even after many years of winning them and it was discovered that they cheated during the tournament (doping) and the cheating helped them to record such wins.

In #'Merica we're just going to let the computers make decisions on balls, strikes, safes, outs, touchdowns, and 3 pointers.

It's only a matter of time until we enforce our will on the rest of the world and computers hand out yellow cards to non followers.

I've been asking for a referee/umpire forum for years but until they provide one, I would continue posting here in the General Forum

There are 7 billion people in the world. I might be the only one who hates technology in sports and love the human element of refereeing games. I lost a lot of money on this call from the game you are referring and shit happens. If anyone should be upset its me and I am totally fine with it. Sports have been around forever and all of a sudden we are saying refs have to be perfect and never make a mistake when no one on earth is perfect.. Before someone says why worry about not being perfect when robots and technology can make sure it is.. think about this before you go down that road. do you want computers taking your job and replacing you and leaving you out of work??? I mean that would make sure everything is done perfect right? why leave you at your job when computers can do it perfect! Arsenal had their chances to win and both teams had a chance to go over the total with great chances in each half.

Fair result? Have to respectively disagree. The body of work for the game does not negate the fact that the result was altered by a bad call. Soccer should review just like other sports. There is always a delay after a goal anyway, so there is no reason not to review. I understand the purist view, but offsides is becoming more of a problem the last couple years. The first few weeks of officiating in the Premier League has been horrible in my opinion, especially from the side officials. As someone who more or less bets soccer for a living these days (and watches as much as possible), I would love to see a change; however, I doubt it will ever happen.

A friend pointed out this discussion so thought I would chime in. Some interesting champions league qualifiers this afternoon. Home teams that lose 1-0 in first leg are always intriguing to look at and there are 3 of those situations today. The price for Leverkusen is a little too high for my taste given German teams history against Italian teams, but the other two are worth a look.

I don't think it's obvious that he was onside and I don't think that replay could have overturned it anyway. Unless you have a camera directly on the line that the last defender is occupying, you don't even know if you have a correct angle.

Thanks, JOSHNAUDI for the video demonstration of my viewpoint. Am not advocating that robots should be used to decide on such issues but goal line technology is currently being used to decide if the ball actually crossed the goal line. It has not affected the manpower involvement in football or anybody's job. Such technologies if applied in deciding offside positioning, it will be a good development in football

Liverpool fan here and played the game my entire life. He was onside but these things even themselves out over the course of a season
