Access to site yesterday

I am sorry if this is in the wrong forum.....Is there something I am doing wrong as I could not access the site during peak times yesterday? I am over 50 so keep that in mind too for tech skills. Is there an alternate way that is easier? I tried app, iPhone and desktop.

I think the site became so popular the servers could not handle the traffic.

Everybody had the problem. Server overload. Hopefully they get it worked out for next weekend.
