Bill Murray could face drunken driving charges after driving through downtown Stockholm in a golf cart and smelling of alcohol, Swedish police have disclosed.
They insist, according to a report by Assocated Press, that Hollywood actor with a passion for golf smelled of alcohol when they pulled over his slow-moving cart in the streets of the Swedish capital.
When asked to take a breathalyser test, he refused, citing American laws and the right of the individual.
So police resorted to the old-fashioned blood test, but only expect the results to become available to them in 14 days.
Murray, who starred in 'Caddyshack' and 'Groundhog Day' and was an Oscar nominee for 'Lost In Translation' last year, was in Sweden to play in a golf tournament.
He is believed to have signed a document admitting he was driving under the influence and agreeing to let an officer plead guilty if the case goes to court.
Police say Murray wasn't obviously or offensively drunk, and that he will probably end up being fined.
Murray, a regular in the in the PGA Tour's Pebble Beach Pro-Am, couldn't be contacted for comment.
Police believed he may have returned to America..
