Hope you are doing well, Fletch, and have come through a difficult time in one piece. I had no illusions they would win, but I thought they would show up a bit. I posted this elsewhere, hope you don't mind me posting it here.
...I have been a Skins fan for at least 30 years I would guess, or as long as I can remember knowing what football and the NFL was.
That was the most pathetic display I have ever witnessed by Skins team, including the SB loss to the Raiders. Embarrassing, and in front of the whole world no less! The offense is and was disgraceful. They consistently had great field position thanks to Bates, yet could only get in the GB territory ONCE before the final 2 minutes of the game! Repeated dump off passes for 4 yards on 3rd and long! 4 consecutive times on 3rd down George is sacked!? 137 total yards and 8 first downs! The leading receiver has 8 receptions and 51 yards FOR THE YEAR! What kind of offense is that!?
I really have to question the offensive coordinator, quarterback, quarterbacks coach (what qualifications does Marty?s son have, btw). I mean, that is just ridiculous. Jeff George is not capable of throwing the ball short or long, he can't read the defense and can't get out of his own way. 3 points in 8 quarters!!! You can't blame the defense for last night. What can you expect, they were on the field for 2/3 of the game! It is no wonder GB ran it down their throats and a 3 yard slant turned into a 41 yard TD. To me it looks like everyone on both sides of the ball are so scared of making a mistake and bearing the wrath of Marty and the rest of Shottenhiemer clan, that noone is making any plays at all.
The Skins are easily the worst team in the league, and I really question whether they can win more than a couple games this year, if that. I would go against them the remainder of this year, especially on the road.
