Ok, here's the deal. This is the final week of the regular season and the top 4 teams advance to the playoffs. I'm in a 4-way tie for 2nd place, but on the outside looking in due to being 8.3 total points behind the "4th" place team. What really makes the schedule quirky is that every team that is in 1-5 place is playing 6-10 so there is no chance of someone in front of me knocking off an opponent with the same record.
I'm in a PPR league that must start the following positions: QB, RB, WR, WR, TE, Wild Card (WR/RB/TE), PK, and 2 individual defensive starters. I've been lucky to sneak out two wins the past two weeks, but by not playing the right QBs I've cost myself almost 40 points.
This is my roster:
QB: Matt Ryan and Andrew Luck
RB: Arian Foster, Michael Turner and Jacquizz Rodgers
WR: Reggie Wayne, James Jones, T.Y. Hilton, Eric Decker and Malcom Floyd
TE: Tony Gonzalez and Brandon Myers
PK: Jason Hanson
IDP: Curtis Lofton, Devin McCourty and Patrick Peterson
I just checked the waiver wire and for defensive players Charles Tillman and Paul Posluszny are available. Donnie Avery, Sidney Rice and Mike Wallace are available WRs.
Scoring:
1 point for every 25 passing yards
6 points for every TD thrown, ran or caught
-3 points for every INT
1 point for every 10 rushing yards
1 point for every reception
1 point for every 20 receiving yards
-2 points for lost fumble
1 point for solo tackle
3 points for QB sack
2 points for forced fumble or fumble recovery
1 point for defended pass
Matt Ryan @ Carolina has been a disappointment the last 4 weeks with 5 TD passes, 7 INTs and 2 lost fumbles. He is projected to score 22.77 points and had 368 yards and 3 TDs against Panthers earlier this season.
Andrew Luck vs Titans was HUGE last week, but of course I sat him on the bench. He is projected to score 20.76 points and had 297 yards and 1 TD against Tennessee earlier this season. 7 INTs the past 3 games including 3 last week at Detroit.
Reggie Wayne and Eric Decker were absolute busts last week. I didn't play James Jones because in week 12 he did not have one fucking pass thrown his way at NY Giants. Of course last week he caught 2 TD passes (one was called back on penalty). Floyd is scary because his QB is an absolute fuckstick head case.
Reggie had 7 catches for 91 yards in previous game at Tennessee. Decker had 7 catches for 79 yards and 1 TD in previous game at Oakland. Jones had 2 catches for 20 yards in previous game at Detroit. Floyd is on the road at Pittsburgh for a 1PM game, so he is a no go in my opinion.
Foster is at NE on Monday Night and only scored 3 TDs in last 4 games and barely ran for 100 yards twice in that time. Turner has been even worse only averaging 56 yards rushing the past 4 games with 3 TDs, not to mention he has a groin injury and now possibly a shoulder injury.
Gonzalez at TE is a no brainer, but I just picked up Myers from Oakland (dropped Alex Smith). I could start him in Wild Card position as he had 69 catches and 2 TDs the last 4 weeks and Denver is WEAK against TEs.
I know I'm throwing a lot of information at y'all but I'm looking for my 3rd straight playoff appearance and if you make the playoffs you at least make your money back ($200 entry fee).
