Now is a good time to extend some periodic "Thanks" to the forum regulars (and irregulars) for all the ongoing contributions of valuable information and accumulated insights . . . and "Congratulations" to the many on the fairly rich selections they have been sending down the pipe . . . to borrow the tag line from the promotional commercials for the PGA Tour that are shown during their U.S. telecasts, "These Guys are Good" . . .
I don't know what to make of my selections for this week, except I don't expect them to be "hotter than a firecracker on the 4th of July."

The best thing about the LPGA Tour for me this year will likely be that this week the USGA offers a long overdue look at Prarie Dunes.
("A touch of Scotland in the Land of Oz. Sunflowers instead of heather. Oceans of grain instead of the sea. But, like Scotland, be prepared, the wind always blows." These are the poetic words of golf pro Tom Watson describing the course at Prarie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson,
Kansas.
Prarie Dunes can hardly be farther from the sea and yet, it is known as a "seaside" course because of its rolling sandhills, characteristic of a true Scottish links. Vaunted by professionals as one of America's toughest courses, Prarie Dunes is a course for thinkers, rewarding good shots and punishing the weaker ones. Built in 1937 by Perry Maxwell at the height of the Depression, the course is blended intuitively into the natural terrain creating treacherous and well protected greens with severe roughs. Prarie Dunes is ranked among the top 20 courses in America; its number 8 and 10 holes make most golfing publication's list
of the greatest golf holes in America.)

In honor of the 4th of July:
MEDITATION ON THE DIVINE WILL
"The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, and one must be wrong. God cannot be for and against the same thing at the same time. In the present civil war it is quite possible that God's purpose is something
different from the purpose of either party; and yet the human instrumentalities, working just as they do, are of the best adaptation to effect His purpose. I am almost ready to say that this is probably true; that God wills this contest, and wills that it shall not end yet. By His mere great power on the minds of the now contestants, He could have either saved or destroyed the Union without a human contest. Yet the contest began. And having begun, He could give the final victory to either side any day. Yet the contest proceeds."
A. Lincoln

Cheers to "a more perfect Union." :toast:
