I know nothing about this game but i was looking through the football lines at OLYMPIC sportsbook last night and i came across a game where SYDNEY was like -28 or something like that over the KANGAROOS and i saw the moneyline was only -300 and i thought 28 is a pretty big # so i placed $600/200 on SYDNEY moneyline(mind u knowing nothing about this game LMAO) wake up in the morning and i guess they won LOL.......well anyway i just wanted to know and ask the regular AFL bettor did i just get lucky??? or was that a good bet like i thought it would be since the spread was that big and the moneyline wasn't that much. im asking this cause i love making money on sports and i would like to expand my options......looks like AFL is pretty big in AUSSIE like the NFL her. thanx in advance for your thoughts :mj14:

You didn't just "get lucky" with Sydney over my Kangaroos. Sydney are currently running hot and were a home favourite. They are 3rd favourite to win the cup when the Finals start in two weeks.
If you like short moneylines there are usually a couple of good ones each week in the AFL. They just don't usually attract the regulars here at MJ's. We tend to stick to the spread betting mostly.
We probably should list our 'ML of the round' thoughts in the regular AFL thread for those that like to throw $$ at them but just don't know the sport too well.
Look the game up on ESPN where highlights of each round are shown according to others here. It's the best game in the world!!
