A split round this weekend so only 4 matches being played.

At this stage there are two plays I like:

Sydney -14.5 vs Geelong
Collingwood -4.5 vs Fremantle

Season to date: 22 - 23 :(

Can't get me near the Carlton v West Coast game (could be a nil all draw!) :D
I do like Sydney -14.5 v Geelong. I expect that the Swans will "do it" for Schwatta in his last AFL game.
And in an effort to get away from the faves during the second half of the season I'm taking Freo +7.5 v Collingwood over in the west. Pies are due for an off one me feels!!

For the second week in a row my rusty old system has no eligible team selections.

Good luck fellas

One fav has to cover this week

Collingwood -4.5 is still available at Olympic....Going out as we speak here in Oz.

I still think Freo are very over-rated, as all their much talked about home wins have come over St.Kilda, Melbourne, Richmond, Carlton and Essendon without their 2 best.

Not the best form line.

The weather is fine, but not too hot, one of Freo's major home advantages. Only about 15 degrees at present, and I expect the Pies to roll to a good win.

MrChristo,

I have alot of time for Fremantle but as you say their home wins this year have not been against the strongest opposition.

I think it is fair to say Collingwood are the form side of the AFL at the moment and if they play somewhere near their best they should get the points today.

Good luck with the play - for both our sakes !!

:)

Weekend results:

Essendon 72 Hawthorn 65
West Coast 89 Carlton 88
Geelong 101 Sydney 99
Fremantle 90 Collingwood 79

Still trying to figure out how the hell I ended up going 0-3 with my plays this weekend. In each game I looked to be in a strong winning position only to see the other team storm home.

Carlton were leading West Coast by 18 points in the final quarter - and lost.
Sydney were leading Geelong by 28 points in the final quarter - and lost.
Collingwood were leading Fremantle by 20 points at half time - and lost.

Anders,

I did expect an improved showing from the Warriors this year but there is no way I could have imagined them sitting 2nd on the ladder after 14 rounds.

They have a certain confidence about them and they just keep putting teams away by big margins (which is something they have not been able to do in the past).

I am looking forward to the Warriors vs Broncos match played in Brisbane on June 30.

Whilst they have never won at ANZ Stadium before they have a solid chance especially with so many State of Origin players having to back up.

Also interesting to note that the Warriors have the best points differential in the comp at this stage:

Warriors +232
Newcastle +225
Broncos +174
Bulldogs +154
Parramatta +105
Roosters +104

Yes guys....this AFL season is proving a most difficult one
So many matches changing course. Cartman...man you were stiff mate!!! but you get those weeks...next week they'll all fall your way ;)
From here on I'll be riding the Western teams at home regardless of whom they are playing, and even more so when they are offered the start!!

Anyway......we soldier on to next week

AFL season to date: 23-24

Adelaide -12.5 v Melbourne is the only enticing one for me this half of the split round.

No eligible teams from my system this week....But...last week I missed Geelong and West Coast as eligible teams (due to a spreadsheet equation error) DOH!! They would have taken pawamech to a season 15-9 and a balance of 156%. Therefor I certainly wouldn't have taken the Swans which would have had me on both teams!! Double DOH!!

Good tipping fellas

Joined you for a slice of the Power pie Cartman88.
They sure made a mess of the Tigers and now sit on top of the AFL ladder for the first time in their short history.
Sorry to see my Kangaroos put you out of your Brisbane line....but it was a great game to watch.

Weekend results:

Western Bdogs 133 St Kilda 86
Melbourne 98 Adelaide 73
Brisbane 138 Kangaroos 123
Port Adelaide 154 Richmond 70

I had two AFL plays this weekend and they went 1-1. Thankfully the bigger play on Port Adelaide was an easy winner which meant a small profit.
