Just the one 'Express' system pick for this week and it is Collingwood +points v Essendon. We're expecting rain on Friday so it might be another slippery night for the dry-weather Bombers.
The system has kicked back from its abysmal early season form to level out at 10-10.

Collingwood also qualify in the 'strong plays' (28-15) along with West Coast over Carlton.

Adelaide Australia
Year to Date: 40-26 +10 Units

Where is everyone this week?

I was absent last week because my phone line was stuffed so no internet. In hindsight it was a great round to be absent with all the upsets.

Round 20 Play
Collingwood +3.5 d Essendon

Good luck tonight guys...

..I've been concentrating on the NFLX for the week...but 3 plays, with an option on a 4th! :D

Sydney +16.5

Sydney have lost only 3 games this season by more than this...@ West Coast, Freo and Port.
Melbourne only beaten Sydney twice in last 10 meetings by more than 15. (Going back to 1998)
Should be a very close game either way.

Adelaide -18.5

Adelaide av. 55 inside 50's @ home and allow 44!!..As usual their problem is that they can't score. They scored 100+ only 5 times this year...and when they have they have won the game. Since Rd. 9, Richmond have only not allowed 100+ points, and that was to Freo in Melbourne. Crows kicked 134 points and won by 75 last game v. Richmond.
Richmond give up 8 more inside 50's a game, and now with Johnson out they just won't have enough of the ball forward to kick a score.
Adelaide have won the last 6 meetings by and av. of 32 points.
Richmond have lost their last 8 games @ Adelaide (inc. Port) by an av. of 39 points.

St. Kilda -22.5

Saints average 20 more inside 50's than their opponents at the Dome!!!! Beside's the Brisbane game, their lowest winning margin has been 34 points v. Essendon in Rd. 2.
Penny, Hudgton and Knobel are all big in's for the Saints, while Leigh Brown is a BIG out for the Kanga's...They will have no hope of manning up the Saints forward line.....Wll leave Watt on Gehrig and Urch!! (or McKernan I guess) on Riewoldt!! (Assuming Archer takes Hamill), and that still leaves Goddard.

Also thinking seriously of West Coast -37.5, but will hold tight for the minute.

Magpies blown out early and never really caught up with the 'possessed' Bombers. :cursin:
Coops will be a happy man.

I like 2 of your 3 Christo, Adelaide (are you happy with your new coach Beasty?) and the Saints. But I think Melbourne can cover the 2 and a half goals to Sydney. Their week has been one of disruption and this Melbourne team is going as well as any in recent memory.

I hope your not playing too hard at the NFLX "lottery" Christo!!
Good luck with it and the upcoming season. My Dolphins are stuffed already and they haven't even played a game yet!! :sadwave:

Yep, very happy with last night paw as I really didn't expect them to get up after last weeks poor showing against the blues. Think the sydney/melbourne game will be a ripper and am envious of you guys being able to watch it back home. Playing freo myelf + the points. By the way, my computer is so slow that it will not even allow me to download the afl.com website, so paw or christo, can you inform me of what happened with the coaching merry-go-round this week at Adelaide/Hawthorn/Bulldogs if you don't mind please. Who's coaching where?? Cheers!

Wallace signed to Richmond for 5 years!!!
Crows just kept Neil Craig. (Which in my view is insane with the quality of 'real' coaches out there, but beast might disagree?)

Leaves Doggies and Hawthorn.

Dogs have reportedly offered Eade the job and are waiting for a response. (Word is Eade coach, Robert Shaw in a Neil Balme type role at Coll!...Pumped. He's expecting to make an announcement mid-next week.)

Hawthorn have officially lost all plots. Rumoured to have approached Pagan!! (He's denied it however)...Definately approached Matthews!! lol!!! What were they thinking!!
Where to from here, well, they don't seem to have a plan! My best guess would be retaining Donald McDonald atm, with O'Donell and Harvey in that order.

Absolutely terrible weather in Melbourne, PAWA? Doesn't look too flash on the ol' radar!
Leaving today's games well alone.
Go the Swannies!!

PAWA, NFLX is a goldmine! Where else do you know the coaches gameplan and player rotations before the game?? ;)
(And got on Jax +3 early in the week!) :drinky:

Bomber

Wallace settled for Richmond, Adelaide kept their 'caretaker' coach with the mullet haircut and reports last night say that the Bulldogs are about to offer Eade the job. Hawthorn are left out in the cold. Surely they won't settle for Ayres?!! He's a blonk!!

Hey bomber....I hope you've been practising your golf swing!!

What's the golf swing comment all about paw? Are you keen for a game next time I come down there mate?? Thanks for the update on the coaching situation as like I said, have been struggling to keep up with it all due to my slow ass computer. Eade will be good for your dogs if he signs christo. I'm sure you'd be happy with it! Hawthorn approaching mathews and co. is worth a laugh or to. Doesn't appear that things will be picking up at glenferrie too much come next year- at this stage anyway! Very surprised Adelaide didn't go with an experienced coach. And Wallace at Richmond will be something to watch come next season- all they need now is a decent playing list!
Jumping on the NFL early christo! The preseason scares me so will wait till it officially gets going before pumping some $$ in to it. Yeh, Ricky retiring didn't help your dolphins pawa! A little surprised by that one!

Maybe I should have stayed away for another week after Collingwood last night. Although after the first quarter they were probably the better team.

As for Neil Craig as Crows coach I am not as disappointed as many others are at the appointment. Wallace and Eade were the other two choices. Wallace didn't want to come to Adelaide and from reports Eade just didn't present well in the interviews. Only time will tell though whether the right decision was made.

I can't believe in this day and age that any coach gets a 5 year contract. What happens if there still on the bottom in 2 years? I wonder if any other coach would consider being like Grant Thomas who has NO contract and could be sacked at any time if St Kilda felt like it. He described as being like a normal employee of a company.

Saturday Play
Melbourne -15.5 d Sydney

Must have been a nice day in melbourne today judging from the scores! I know freo are terrible away from home but i thought they may have been able to keep it inside 30, especially considering the conditions.
Hoping for a big melbourne win tonight so all the best for those of you on them.

Good solid win by the Swannies tonight.
The smaller dome definately suited them better than the free-running Dees, who seem to need that extra space.

The Doggies game sure is depressing to watch tho....Hope like hell Eade isn't watching!!!

Hoping for a big fav day tomorrow.

Great call on the Swans Christo. Demons never looked in it.

I've scored the 'good seats' at the Dome for this afternoons Roos v Saints game, so I'll go and watch us fritter away our last hope of making the 8. Money on the Saints....but heart on the blue & white!!

Pawa, are you right in front of the coach's box again?? Great seats they were indeed! Already looking forward to getting back down there next season. However, hoping the saints win big and cut in to that roos percentage a little. Must be one of the tightest finals races we have seen in a while. By the way, good call on the swans christo as i can tell you were proud to have seen that one ride to a victory and earn you some $$

Going with West Coast -37.5 guys.

West Coast have not lost a home game all season. Their younger players have really stepped up and they have won their last 2 home games by 49 and 44 points. Carlton's last 3 losses have been by 83, 57 and 48. West Coast won this game last year by 116 points. Carlton have lost their last 4 trips to Perth by an av of 54 points.

:D Thanks bomber!..Was pretty impressed with myself I must say.
Your boys could well cost me the perfect 8 this week!..Picked Coll solely based on the weather! :cursin:

Great goal after the siren @ HT in Adelaide. Crows having plenty of it, really should run away after HT.

Adelaide were an easy winner in the end. Richmond are one of the worst teams going around. I've never seen a team stuff around with the ball so much.

1-2 for the weekend.

My guys put it to the Saints for the first half before they powered away in the second. Very hard to stop Reiwolt and that BIG "G-Train". I can't remember seeing someone throw Archer around like a rag doll like I saw today. Gehrig is simply too big to stop when he sets his mind to it. The Saints are simply a $ making machine when playing @ the Dome. It softened the pain somewhat! :D

Seats were on the opposite side of the ground bomber but level 2 just the same. A great view from there. I'll have some ready for the next time your in town!

Adelaide and the Coasters get it done for a good "recovery" Sunday. I wonder what the Brisbane v Saints line will be for next weekend? Should be interesting.

Well done to MrC for "lighting 'em up" on the NFL board with a 5-1 day. You might be right about the pre-season "goldmine"!! Great work. :toast:
