The regular season is nearing an end and it's shaping up the be tight finals series. It will be good to see a team other than Brissy playing for the flag this year- no offense cartman. On that note however, it should be a classic at the Gabba this saturday night with the loser all but gone from the finals race. Most of the games look reasonably tight this week and if the dogs can down the dees and the roos fall to the swannies it's going to come down to the wire for the two of you guys still in the race for the team kit come the end of the home and away season. Cartman, you heading to the game this weekend?

The only thing stopping me having a HUGE bet on the Dogs is the weather. Looks like some rain might be about on Saturday, which I'm none to impressed with.

I simply cannot believe that 1.76 is available for the Doggies this week! Richmond were (are!) a much better outfit than Melbourne atm...One lucky single point win over a team who only had about 25 blokes to choose from (and 2 more went down during the game), and they are seen as a reasonable chance to knock off the form team of the comp?? Crazy.

Will wait until Sat afternoon to see what the weather will be like. Given reasonable condition the Doggies should win this one by a fair margin.

Kangaroos look nice @ +22.5, PAWA, but seeing some things that are making me wonder.
Simpson has come out and said that while a win would be great, a loss is no big deal!! Makes me think that they've given up on a top 4 finish and will be more interested in managing the players than going all out for the win. It's the "rematch" of the game in which the Sydney trainer died too, so expect the Swans to be very fired up.

Saints/Freo line looks about right.

You'd have to look pretty closely at Collingwood +47.5 wouldn't you??!! A lot of points.

Geelong/Eagles looks about right.

Bris/Port? Good luck with that!

Essendon/Carlton?? That one too.

Did like Hawthorn to beat the Tiges, but they have 3-4 decent outs so I might leave that one alone.

Basically it's the Dogs or nothing for me....will see if I can't get on an NFL roll instead! (Will be interested to see what the system says tho of course.)

Good luck gang!

Went a well overdue 5-2 last week - have 3 plays for this weekend ....

St Kilda -11.5 vs Fremantle
Collingwood +47.5 vs Adelaide (2 units)
Kangaroos +22.5 vs Sydney

Should be a great weekend of footy with plenty of teams virtually playing for their season.

Has been interesting to follow Ben Graham's progress with the New York Jets - put up 3 solid kicks in the first pre-season game and has had received some fairly positive press coverage.

Bomber - will probably be heading up for the game on Sat night but depends on a couple of work commitments.

Ace finish to tonights game with Freo kicking the winning goal after the final siren!! The Saints rooms look like the Emergency ward at the local hospital. Some important players may be gone for the rest of the season.

The Sainters are in trouble!! :scared

I'm with Cartman on the Magpies tomorrow getting +47. Too many to resist given recent clashes.

Always good to see a finish like that. Didn't think they'd pull it off but when when your back's against the wall, strange things seem to happen against all odds. Tight race to play finals this year. Tailing you guys and having a dabble at the pies also. +47.5 is too many to resist!

At the risk of over-loading this bandwagon....I'm on the 'Pies aswell.

Not as much rain about as I might have hoped, but forecast is for some wind aswell which could do the trick.

**** Freo!!! Makes it interesting for the Doggies now. Still, the task is simple enough. Win. Then win again!

PLEASE, can someone give me a reason why it seems the 'public' are all over Melbourne?? Makes no sense to me at all....
Was it the 'stirring win' last week? The fact they get 3 decent players back?
This is the most confident I have been coming into a game all year. I'm pretty sure we win this one, and win it well.
Forecast is for the day to become fine and sunny, so hopefully a nice evening on the way.
Doggies big, boys. (er, as opposed to; Doggies, big boys! ;))

Of course, PAWA, it makes things very interesting for the Roo's aswell!!
Given your %, it's now quite conceivable that you guys miss the finals all together!...Of course, you'd have to lose to Carlton....Stranger things have happened....;)

Sanderson, Chapman and Hunt all likely out's for Geelong. (Hunt definately).

Eagles @ 1.70 looks pretty good. Everyone talking up the 'rebound' of Geelong, but they were terrible last week and are still extremely limited in who they get to play!

Fine weather. No rain about. Even though the Eagles haven't been great away from home, Melbourne managed to win there with half a side for the first time in 17 years!

Perhaps its coz your Doggies have only beaten the Demons once in their last 8 attempts!!!....'big boy'

I might even throw some coin at the Bulldogs....just to help bring 'em down!!! :grins:

not as confident as you are christo about your dogs. I see it as being a closish game with the loser all but gone. Should be finals type intensity. You boys are due for a let down and melbourne will take alot away from that win last week. GL with it though buddy! Hope they hit so it makes things interesting for next week when the blues beat up on the roos! lol!

Make that once in their last 9 attempts!!

It must have ripped your heart out Christo. Up by 22 with 5 mins to play.....then the Demons "do a Kangas" on your boys and come back from the dead to steal it. Thank Cooney for letting Davey smother his kick in the back pocket at the end.
Another amazing finish this week.

Bulldogs = :mj122:

You kidding? He was our best player all night. (although we could have done with that last goal that he missed.)

Some pretty ordinary umpiring decisions didn't help. Some bad kicking for goal late didn't help. (Giasiracusa's miss would have sealed it).
Some TERRIBLE decisions in front of goal all night definately didn't help!! At one stage we had more marks insde 50 (15) than shots @ goal!! WTF???? :cursin:

Well the dust has settled from round 21 and I've been playing with the "Ladder predictor" on the AFL website. No matter how hard I try...I keep getting an Adelaide v West Coast Grand Final. Sydney, as good as they are travelling, would have to win 'away' in the first week to change things. They are probably the only team that could break the top two's 'home' stranglehold. St.Kilda's major injuries form Friday night has pretty much snuffed out any chance they have.

West Coast, once again on the weekend, showed their inability to win in Victoria and I can't see that changing on the last day in September at the MCG. The Crows can win anywhere.

$3.40 for the Adelaide Crows to win the cup is as good as it is going to get me thinks.

A medium sized bet on this one with a small 'saver' on Sydney.

Confidence is high.

Play around with the predictor and tell me if you can see it any other way.
