The only place that I have seen live half-time AFL betting available is with my 'local' TAB Sportsbet account here in the state of Victoria, Australia. I can't place the bet on the net but I can see the odds displayed there at half-time and phone it in during the half-time break. I'm guessing that its a rare service (feel free to correct me anyone) and not much good to any of the interstate guys and virtually pointless for the overseas guys. They also take quarter and three-quarter time bets. Not in-running though.

Unfortunate, considering last years half-time 'leaders' went on to win at a rate of 82.6%. This year the number is currently at 87.5% Certainly numbers worth keeping an eye on.
The strange thing about the St.Kilda game last week was that they were given +28.5 points head start @ $1.85 before the game, yet at the long break they were 24 points in front and @ $1.90 to win with only a half for Adelaide to make up the deficit. I took the punt, knowing the 80 odd percent success rate.

Hope this is of some help.

Are you a local or off shore player Depth??

Thanks for the reply.......

if u live outside oz, then u can bet live on the internet...
live in oz - can only bet live by telephone....

betfair briefly had live afl but have removed...currently in negotiations with tab and oz governemt to set up an exchange...so they dont want to rock the boat i guess...

centrebet have been offerring more live games than darwin all sports, but they offer odds only at the breaks....and only on games that are shown live on local northern territory tv - see Darwin listings - http://tvguide.ninemsn.com.au/guide - make sure you choose Darwin as location

half time betting a good insureance policy if your team is behind agreed. st kilda were $2.10 at centrebet - halftime!

thanks again....

yes am local - in brisbane

Canberra, Australia
Sportsbet Australia also bet live.

Sports Acumen also offer Index markets on Supremacy and Total Points during 1/4 time. They bet supremacy during the game as well

Live betting just might come in very handy this week guys......

Noticed that both Geelong and Doggies fell away badly in the last quarters after playing @ the dome the week before.
ALL players saying how hard the ground is and it takes longer to recover, so I ran some numbers...(ok I just checked last years results! :D )

In the first 4 rounds last year.....

If we discount the round 4 clash between St.Kilda and Geelong who BOTH played at Colonial the week before.....

12 teams played at the dome and only 2 won the next week! (Adelaide home to Geelong, and Port home to Carlton)

More specifically......only Port (in that game) outscored their opposition IN THE SECOND HALF!!!!!!!!!!

In fact in the 12 games, the teams that played @ Colonial the week before were outscored 98 goals to 65!!!!

The results seem to fall off after round 4 (Teams become more 'match fit' ??), but definately something to keep an eye on for the next week or 2 ;)

Season to date: 4 - 1 +7.35u

I'll kick things off this week with two plays.

Geelong +20.5 versus Collingwood @ $1.85 2 Units
Cats have won 6 of the past 7 against the Magpies. They just match up well against 'em. Happy to take the points start and think they'll run it close, if not the upset win.

Richmond -8.5 versus Fremantle @ $1.90 1 Unit
Purely on Freo's attrocious 'away' record and the fact that Richmond's lineup is strengthened by 'chalky' Richardson's absence!!! :D

Was also tempted to take Adelaide -4.5 v Sydney but this 'dome theory' has made me think twice!! Although Richmond played there last week, their opposition is weaker and the Tigers are at home. Same can't be said for Adelaide.

Good luck to all..........
have to go .....as I can hear the final boarding call of the Express!!!!:yup

Beast2, with you on the dees mate. Think it will be a pretty close game and therefore going to take them inside 39 points for better value.

What the hell happened to Geelong??? I get out of my car at three quarter time and the Cats are up by 3 points.........I come back out of the shops 40 minutes later and they have been 'flogged' by 47 points!!!!

Does anyone know if they actually came back out after the last break??

WTF???!!!

At least Geelong ran the game out well. That is absolutely unbelievable! Pathetic is probably a better word. Went from a lock to a loser in no time. What can happen next? Hoping for some steadier games today.

Toronto, like those 2 games aswell. Adelaide looks inviting but I think it might be a wise move to sit back and just see what happens there. See if the 'dome factor' continues its trend.
