Head to head for us this weekend Christo and I know that you're loving your dogs at $3.15. Have a feeling I'll be hearing more about this game before the weeks out. You're right in regard to saying that there are a couple of other games that look appealing based on the money line. By the way, did the female catch a few games up on you in the footy tipping last weekend?

Damn, bomber...was hoping you wouldn't bring that up! :D

She's currently over 10 ahead of me!! Not joking!! She's winning our local comp...and I'm WAY back in the dust!! (Must have been everything I taught her ;)

Looking forward to what SportsTab can throw at me spread-wise for the Dogs.

Now let us never mention this again............:thefinger

LOL christo. You should never have let us in on the female getting the best of you in the tipping last season! Had a feeling after some losses this weekend that she may have got the best of you and will be sure to heckle you about it from here on out mate ;) Also, Let me know if a side wager on "our" game this week is on the cards as I'm sure you're kicking yourself for not diving in to pawa's pocket last week when given the chance. :D

Saints will get smashed this weekend, i'm hammering whatever the sportsTab line is. Hawks will beat the cats, take that head to head at 2.15.

13-11' (+5.36)

2 big statements there, Jeff!

I gotta be honest, I don't agree with either of them.

Melbourne/Port/Brisbane/Sydney multi @ 2.98 (2 units)
Geeling WIN @ 1.70.

Will definately play Doggies plus the points.....
Also looking closely at Port -21.5, Melbourne -22.5 and St. Kilda +8.5!!

Won't be putting any $$ down, but I'd be (I am!!) very cautious of playing Collingwood this week.
My numbers actually show Carlton winning the game!! I know Buckley and Tarrant back, but Burns out is a big loss.
Will just tip the Blues, and watch the GF go further ahead! ;)

Yep, its a big call but i just think the hawks have to fire here and the cats aren't much chop whilst the saints bubble will burst here. I'd like to see the saints beat Brisbane at the MCG and play the bombers there also now as they've hit their predicted form. Beating geelong, richmond, adelaide and a wasteful North side doesn't convince me against Freo, plus they were lucky to beat the Lions. However, i like your multi, looks a winner.

Geelong aren't that bad, imo, Jeff.

Everyone stil remembers the first 2 rounds, when they were pumped by St. Kilda first up (no disgrace) and Carlton with the most inexperienced team to run onto a park just about ever!!
Since then they have beaten Richmond and Crows easily (ok, not great), but pushed Sydney and Freo right to the end.
They allow a shot at goal only every 2.16 time the ball enters their 50...second only to Freo.
They did have the 2nd or 3rd defense last year.

Beating geelong, richmond, adelaide and a wasteful North side doesn't convince me against Freo, plus they were lucky to beat the Lions.
What have Freo done?? Beat Carlton handily at home (so?)
Scraped by Adelaide, Geelong and West Coast at home. You can't tell me that St. Kilda aren't travelling much better than those 3 teams!!

Bulldogs/Essendon over 225.5 (2.85)!! Massive price for this.

5 of the last 6 meetings (all of which happen to be at the dome) total 225 or more.
Dogs have allowed 100+ in 12 of last 13 games at the dome!! (Av. 131.5!!), and 4 of their last 5 games at the dome have gone over this number...at an av. of 239!

Ess. have topped 100 in 8 of their last 12 games at the dome.
After a slow start to the year they have av. 118.5 over their last 4 games, only one of whcih has been in the dome. (137-131 v. West Coast!).
The Doggies last gamne at the dome was also v. West Coast and the score in that game was 137-144!

Should be a shootout. I just hope they both kick reasonably straight!

That is a juicy 'over' Christo!! I think I'll get me some of that. :D

2 'strong plays' for this week using my new method (10-1 & 9-2 ATS) are Melbourne over West Coast and Geelong over Hawthorn.
I went through last season's figures using the same method and came up with 37 Wins / 12 Losses from 49 eligible picks at a strike rate of 75.5%. The 'covering' rate was a modest 28 / 21 @ 57.1%

Will look at some multis for this round I think. Yours looks spot on Christo ;)

Still trying to get over last weeks hammering!!

Loving your odds on the dogs at 30.5 for $1.80 christo. Think that is a great bet! Also, agree that the game should be a shootout and considering Lloyd has been somewhat quiet over the past 3 weeks and the fact that he demolished the doggy backline in last years game (I know you haven't forgotten this one christo) makes way for another possible free-flowing game with a lot of goals. Can't wait for friday night!

...Carlton +20.5 (1.80)

Been thinking about this one for a while now, and news tonight that Tarrant didn't make it through training and is extremely unlikely to play has tipped me over the edge.

Stats are very close: Carlton 291 inside 50's to 290!
193 clearances to 192.
Collingwood's defense has been very poor...allowing 177 shots at goal. 3rd worst behind only Dogs and Hawthorn.
No way Carlton is as bad as last week.
Pies beat Carlton by 73 points in rd. 17 last year, but both Tarrant and Burns kicked 3 that day, and Carlton were TERRIBLE!!
In rd. 2 last year, Collingwood won by only 16 points as 1.14 favs.

Collingwood has won only one game by more than this no. in their last 11 games!! (More if you count pre-season games.)

Like Carlton to at least keep this one close....Possibly gt the win. ;)

Beaten by a Essendon goal with 7 seconds left on the clock. Not Happy.

On the radio coverage here they were talking about a guy who had $70000 at Centrebet on Essendon to win by greater than 23 which got up with the goal that beat my bet. I can't imagine having that much money on one game or being able to afford to lose that much.

Round 7 Plays
Fremantle - 8.5 d St Kilda
Everything favours a Freo victory here. St Kilda are without the two suspended players, have just played probably the toughest game physically and mentally of the life and are due for a letdown.

Other Plays
Carlton - Collingwood
I can't support a team after a 105 point loss but conversely I can't support Collingwood who have only won one game. The inclusion of Buckley and Tarrant will help Collingwood if they both play.

Kangaroos - Brisbane
Brisbane is expected to win but it is matter of how determined they are as I think this a game they could be happy just to win after the tough game last week.

Port - Adelaide
Port should win and cover on current form but while Port have won the last 7 they have all been reasonably close.

Will post later for Sunday games.

2-1 so far..+0.6.

Kicking myself for not taking the Sainters.

About people realised that their bubble won't be bursting....BECUASE THERE IS NO BUBBLE!!
They are currently the best team in the comp. End of story.

Pretty pumped over the Carlton game. Obviously winning $$ is always fun...But you can't beat seeing Collingwood go down in a screaming heap!!

What a fantastic night!! After giving my team Adelaide absolutely no chance of beating Port we come out and do the unthinkable and beat them relatively easily by 32 points. We hadn't beaten them in 7 attempts dating back to 2000. Being surrounded by mainly Port supporters at the ground made the victory even more sweet.

You are right Christo, Saints are the real deal. Just thought they had to many things against them this week but was totally wrong. I can't see who will beat them at the moment.

Sunday Play
Geelong -6.5 d Hawthorn

A.F.L. into the late p.m. & early a.m. !!!

A.F.L. into the late p.m. & early a.m. !!!

Still waiting to "trainsurf" on the EXPRESS !

I read on A.F.L. websites that W. Coast is making 5 changes and a rumor was in the wind that a key player for the Eagles may miss the match with the Dees. Regardless of the unknowns I like the Dees upfront and superior midfield.

Pinnacle has the M.L. @ -325 so it's time for at least a dime

I like Geelong @ -135, and upon a favorable outcome on the Dees match, will "pounch" on the Cats

Good luck to all of the A.F.L. speculators and may your Mother's have a blessed day on Sunday !
